Dear Prashant,

Two of the karakas for the 6th are Saturn- Servants and Mars-Enemies. If a

planet is a enemy of the karaka of a house and placed there, then the native

will face problems due to the indications of the karaka. Here as Saturn is

inimical to Mars, the karaka for enemies, the native will face problems due

to enemies. However, a malefic's placement in a dusthana (mostly Upachayas)

is always better than its placement in Kendra or Kona. Your aspect on the

8th is correct.

Saturn being the karaka of the 8th house, its placement in another dushthana

can cause VRY, only if Saturn becomes the yogakaraka for the native. As you

say Saturn should be alone,otherwise transfer of power will take place

between Saturn and the conjoining planet.

Makes good sense. Added to that, from 6th, Sat will

have 11th Argala on 8th - favourable for long life.

Changing the topic, How true is the old dictum -

"Sat's aspect is always bad but promotes the place

where he is posited and vice versa for Jupiter". My

experience has been quite the contrary.

Hello Sarajit/Prashanth & All,

One more thing, Saturn in 6th House is also aspecting

12th and also 3rd. Saturn is also karak for 12th

House(sorrow), how would this work, specially if it is

Debilited in 6th, I guess Saturn is also karak for 3rd

house (Misery).

Please forgive me for any mistakes, I am fairly Junior

and still trying to understand things. I appreciate

you patience.

Dear Chandru, don't be apolegetic, we are all in the

same boat (barring a dozen gurujis in the group), or

say, in different boats which have progressed in

different directions from the coast into the deep blue

sea, the other coast is still not in sight!

The hses stand for too many things ( as rightly put by

Sarajit) and also consider the combined influence of

all the planets before coming to conclusion.

Saraji: What I know is that whatever Saturn is aspecting, it cause delay in

the fructification of the indication of the house and wherever Jupiter is

aspecting by Graha drishti, many of the evils of that place is removed and

the house tends to becomes blemish free. Anyways, whereever Saturn is

aspecting, the native will have lots of experience and learn a lot from

them, even though the experiences seem to be negetive in material plane. I

can't comment on what you asked as I am unaware of that dictum and even

didn't have a practical experience to confirm it.

Dear Chandru!

If 4th is the house of happiness, how 3rd or 12th becomes the house of

sorrow... sorrow will come only if the Saturn has argala on the 4th or place

there or have aspect on it. If I have time, I will list down the karakas of

different houses and what they rule in that house. Refer Crux of Vedic

Astrology for ready reference.

Now 3rd is the house of brothers whose karaka is Mars, so Saturn's aspect

would cause problems regarding brothers (there so many other indications

covered by 3rd- list down all the karakas and see saturn is an enemy to

which karakas) and 12th is the house of expenses/ emancipation/ Sleep/

pleasure from bed/ long duration travel etc... having different karakas for

each of these indications.. If saturn is an enemy of any of these karakas,

the native will face problems regarding the associated indication, becuase

of Saturn's aspect...

Very itelligent indeed. The Argala point is well taken. You are quite right

about Saturn. Where ever Saturn is placed, we end up losing out in that area of

life and yet we say that saturn protects the house where he sits. It is well

known that in the 11th or 3rd house saturn does away with the elder or youger

coborn in due couse of time and if he is supported by some other demon like

naughty Rahu, then he does not waste time in doing this diabolical job - the

coborn dies early. Similarly with fifth house where children are denied or some

pain is caused. This is my personal experience where even a Saturn in Aquarius

in the fifth house did not fail to show his form.

Look at this rationally. He is weak so whatever he represents is weak and will

die soon. If this is a brother, then this is lost early and if money, then this

is depleted soon...So, does he really protect???

Talking of Deva's, perhaps he is the most unwelcome one. When his presence is

felt nearby (i.e. transits the 12th house in Sade sati), your wife feels that

you are the most despicable person in this world. And what is worse, if you are

a devoted person having decided not to marry and dedicate yourself to

Spirituality, then this results in your "falling" in love and tying the knot

(perhaps aroung the neck!). In any case, you get the opposite of what you want

and the result is sorrow in personal life.

Finally he arrives at your forte, your Janma rasi and then you make all the

mistakes you can imagine. Even Krishna admired the Moon on chaturthi during

such a transit, so what to speak of little mortals like us. Having made all

those mistakes your self confidence, esteem and ideals are shaken and you are

left wondering whether there is any wisdom left within.

Finally he bids good bye and you breathe in relief only to realise that he is

not yet fully gone having stumbled at your gate. He intends to punish you for

all the sins 'you' did when he was sitting on your head and guiding you! The

crops are destroyed like the famine near Dwarka after Krishna admired the Moon

on Chaturthi. He takes away all the savings, land and food as 'penalty' and

leaves you high and dry.

That's the story of Sade-sati. And what about the other houses? In the fourth,

it is Kantaka sani like in the eighth..finally you realise that he is the just

one, the truest dispenser of justice as he is the one who punishes you for the

mistakes you made because of him!!!

His aspects are universally accepted as terrible and most undesirable as they

cause death and disease. Little Ganesha ended up fighting his father Shiva and

having His head chopped off due to this aspect of Saturn who had unwitting

admired His beauty as a baby in the mothers lap. Later, thanks to Vishnu

Ganapati not only got a elephants head but also got the boon from His mother

that where ever He sits Saturn shall neither dare to look nor stay. And per

chance if Saturn were to show up, then Ganesha would transform him into a tiny

mouse and take a piggyback ride. Imagine a little mouse having to go around the

earth three times (remember the three transits of Saturn analogy) with a huge

elephant bodied Ganapati. Well, that is truly Justice done. So, lets cheer up

as Ganapati is always there to help just as he had heard Radha’s prayer and

come to the Krishna's aid.Om namo Ganapataye vighna-vinashine swaha. (16

i totally agree with you. but it was not clear from

the earlier post that the saturn is the ruler of 6th

8th or 12th house. what if the saturn is the lord of

1st house would u predict the same thing? i bet u

won't...

:-) as u rightly said, any lords of trik house when

placed in other trik houses it becomes a vipreeta raj

yoga. see the article i posted on"vepreeta raj yoga "

on Jyotish vidya if u r a member of that group.

hi chandru,

As a third and fourth lord for scorpio

ascedant, saturn debiliated in aries. it shows that

you would not be having a good relationship with your

siblings(if any) or create problems in relationships

and 4th lord in 6th house debiliation shows troubles

in home affairs, real estate. Have u experienced this

earlier. however, 6th house planets do influence in

10th house, but as saturn is debiliated it won' do

much good in your case(i feel) any experts can please

comment on this.

That clarifies fully. Thanks.

To give yet another dimension to this discussion on

Saturn’s placement ( not that I to it!)….

Planets Saturn & Rahu are seen as planets of

scantiness. Hence, their placement in 12th or 6th is

preferred as the expenses become scanty or the

diseases become scanty, respectively! Hope it doesn’t

function that way while posited in 8th!

Coming back to Sat in Ar for Ta Asc, VRY is

understandable but will such a placement in

Sayanasukhasthana ( bed pleasures - sleep, sex

etc)permit the native to enjoy the fruits of VRY ?

Dear Vinay,

I am taking up this though I do not consider myself an

expert but have something to share as I am a live

example of similar layout.

Here, the strength of the Asc Lord who also is the

depositor of Sat is very important. The inference you

have drawn may come true provided Mars is weak. Sat

has done all the good in my life inspite of being

Debilitated & Vargottama and at 1.25 deg ( however,

not Retro). I have excellent relationships with my

siblings, however, pl note 3rd rep Younger siblings, I

do not have any. 4th - Sukha - it has given me in

abundance. We need to look at D12, D4 & D16 to comment

on individual areas pl. What say? .... Prashanth

Hi

My mother has 3rd lord saturn (scorpio ascendant) in the 3rd aspected by

exalted Jupiter from the 9th. But the brother next to her was born retarded

due to a fall his mother had while pregnant. In addition, my mother has a

large dark birthmark on her forearm (3rd house). Her relationship with her

siblings is on the whole not great.

Saturn also aspects her ascendant ruler in the 5th, which also contains the

sun, moon and rahu. During her saturn period she was seriously ill with

cerebral malaria.

I suspect that a strong saturn imposes very strict challenges to a

horoscope. I believe saturn's effects are highly conditional on behaviour

and a strong saturn will either punish or reward accordingly. On the other

hand a weak saturn lets you get away with heaps.

Thats my two cents worth!
