Guest guest
Namaste Angie, Excellent question. Once Sanjay said, "Narasimha, desire of moksha is also a desire that can cause rebirth". Moksha is freedom from all desires. Moksha is the state of a soul that wants nothing - absolutely nothing. Regarding Ketu always being in the 7th from AK if Rahu is AK, I don't know what it means. Does it mean that people with Rahu as AK usually have a strong desire of moksha? I don't know. I guess it depends on other influences too. In general, we are taught that the 7th from AK in navamsa shows the desires of the soul. In my case, Jupiter and Mars are in Sg, in the 7th from AK (in navamsa). My soul probably desires to be a leader (Mars) in spreading dharma (Sg) and traditional knowledge (Jupiter). Sanjay has saattwik Moon in saattwik Pisces in the 7th from AK in navamsa. Probably it shows that the primary desire of Sanjay's soul is to spread saattwik traditional knowledge of Sages (Pi) and to worshipp Krishna (Moon in Pi). But then so, the desires of the soul would be moksha, but desiring that would be the cause of rebirth? I totally don't understand this, do you know what I mean? Guest guest
Namaste, I have a related query. What happens when 7th from AK is unoccupied - do we look at 7L or the planets aspecting 7H? In my case, AK, VE, is deb. in VI, with no planets is PI(chart attached). This is regarding the above statement, which I am not convinced, is right. Can you pls give me a reference in the scriptures where 'mumukshus' (people who desire moxa) are said to have rebirth. Au contraire, the scriptures laud such a desire; See Bhagavad Gita, 8.13-8.16. The Lord says that people reaching him will not have rebirth and ofcourse, 'to reach Him' is an implicit desire. In fact, in Bhagavata, the Lord praises such people, whose sole desire is to reach Him and not even Moxa. The Brahmasutras themselves start with an objective: athaato brahmajignAsa. Then and therefore, let's enquire into the nature of Brahman. Different schools of Vedanta give a different interpretation of 'then and therefore', but they agree on one point: unless one desires moxa desperately, not much progress is going to happen. The notable exception is Shankaracharya, in whose opinion, there is no upAsana needed for moxa. However, he imposes other pre-requisites which would need 'some desire' to be present in the 'jignAsu'. Also, on the face of it, it is bit absurd that no desire be entertained; for, that by itself is a desire. It cannot be argued that a person entertains no desires and remains what he is. All schools of Vedanta agree that a man is ignorant of his actual self (whatever that might be) and this ignorance is deplorable and to be ridden of; which cannot happen, unless one develops the desire to put in the effort. In short, I think that statements exhorting a spiritual aspirant to shun desires has been interpreted out of scope; by even shunning the desire to obtain moxa. Apologies to the list for the digression. Regards, NDS Check out Shopping and Auctions for all of your unique holiday gifts! Buy at or bid at http://auctions.
