Dear Sagar,

 

There is a book 'Computer Astrology' by Manju Patodia of 356 pages which gives

all planetary equations, calculation of Heliocentric and Geocentric longitude

of planets, Rahu, Ketu and ascendant plus programs are listed for all the steps

in chart making.

 

In short any one desirous of developing his own program for horoscope making

will find all the relevant data and equations given here.

 

The book comes with a floppy containing this program too. One can install it on his computer.

 

In case you need to know more, email me to my id, as the whole list members may

not be interested in it.

Dear Sagar,

some softwares use differnt mathematicl formula for calculating planets,

other's use and ephemeris. The best thing available is an ephemeris based on

NASA JPL data, that is the most accurate way to calculate the planets, that

is over 20 megabyts of ephemeris. Simply using mathematical formula in

softwares does not yeild very accurate results comparitively. There is an

out of print book by the founder of Matrix software that explains how to

calclulate with mathematical formula. (you can call them and ask what it is

called) It is copyrighten and the formula there are not to be used for any

commmercial software.
