Navamsa Significance

Hi all,

 

I tried to find out the significance of Navamsa. I have couple of Astrology

books. One of them says "Navamsa is like atma to Raasi" - very helpful!!. I

tried searching the net, I found that Navamsa gives the spiritual significance,

and other 9 house related elaboration. On the whole, I didn't find the complete

details on what Navamsa is (looking for more than how to chart it), and it's

relation to Raasi, and how the predictions need to be made. If a planet/planets

is/are exalted in Navamsa, what does it mean, etc..

 

I would appreciate if any one can share their insights. Also, as you can make

out I am newbie. So, let me know if I need to read any material before I

consider re-asking the question.

Dear Ranga,

Navamsa has todo with Dharma, study dharma, and the

criteria for the cropping up of dharma as per pastlife

vs curent life. As ones Dharma can also be shared, the

people we share it with is also seen from Navamsa.

 

Things i read regularly, and recommend.

 

Classics:

1. Bhagavad Gita, Astavakra Gita, Srimad

Bhagavatam..etc i read practically any Upanishad i can

get my hands on.

 

2. Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra.

3. Jaimini Upadesa Sutra(Sanjay Rath Translation).

4. Sarvath Chintamani.

5. Brihat Jataka.

6. Saravali.

8. Satya Jatakam.

7. Uttara Kalamrita.

9. Nasta Jatakam.

 

I prefer when i can also read the slokas.

 

There are more, that i either haven't finished

reading, or haven't read yet such as: Jataka Parijata,

Hora Sara, Garga Hora, Prasna Marga etc..Many classics

repeat themselves, but the more the better.

 

Compilations of knowledge:

1. Crux of Vedic Astrology - Sanjay Rath.

2. Vedic Remedies in Astrology - Sanjay Rath.

3. Narayana Dasa - Sanjay Rath.

4. Any of BV Ramans books, he explains himself well.

 

But most importantly, Meditate!

Navasma is mainly the Analasys of the life partner & Sub divisions: Dharma

(duty) in society, interaction with others and marital life

in Analysing any persons chart
