Guest guest
Dear learned friends I just started reading Mr Rath's new Narayan Dasa (book). And many many things are starting to become much clearer; tho much fog obviously remains. One of the questions I had once asked the List was to do with the rule about the 3 parts of a dasa as ruled by the rasi, the lord, & the planets affecting the rasi respectively. The main text & the FAQ at the end of the book has clarified much of the confusion on that. However, there is a crease. In the rule about maelfic signs giving their results at the end, etc etc, Mr Rath uses Prishtodaya signs to mean ALL malefic owned signs (incl Le, Sc, Aq & excl Ta, Cn, Sg) , ref footnote on pg 77 of the book where Prishtos are explicitly defined, which is NOT the standard definition in all astro-classics. Hence when sometimes Mr Rath mentions malefic owned signs, & sometimes Prishtos in this context, he is actually saying the same thing. But unless you went by his definition of Prishtos, you would have got completely confused as I did eg in the pg 233 CoVa where Aq is counted as Prishto, tho it is not so by standard definitions (similarly pg 504 CoVA for Cp, & pg 505 CoVA for Ta) Actually , the above is not a question, or even a clarification (what is, is). As I have hardly seen any OTHER actual application of Prishto/ Shirso/ Ubhaya daya rasis in any text, & the definitions are not REALLY astronomical (visual...), I dont really care how it is supposed to be defined. As for the specific use by Mr Rath, he has defined it as above, which I am happy with. My problem, is IF this classification has any other use besides the above by Mr Rath for the 3 thirds of dasa interpretation, I guess we'll all be in trouble. This note, I guess, is more to check with all, that I am not making any fundamental mistake in my understanding Regards Nandan
