Dear Visti,

My brother has Saturn in the ascendant and mars in the 7th (Scorpio

ascendant). During Mars dasa, when saturn was intransit in the 5th aspecting

the 7th, his wife had a car accident. A wheel blew out and she stopped the

out of control vehicle by standing on the brakes. This saved the lives of

all the passengers, but left her with a permanently bad back of which she

has to be careful now. But she also became an artist as a result of the

accident, and this is the focus of her life at the moment. She is pretty

good at it, and would not have found out except for it.

Lagna and the seventh are the Satya Peetha and are the biggest protector of

the native. If this places are vitiated by presence of malefics, this can

infact cause lots of problems to the native, in a way that whenever there is

some problem, the native will find it difficult to get the cure. Strong Paka

Lagna and Jupiter are the boon in such case.

Could you please clarify this point.

If leo is the ascendant and

Mars and Saturm are in the 7th house (Aq)

would this still be bad ?

Since 7th Aq it would mean Saturn is in his own house

and Leo Ascendant would mean Mars is a functional

benefic (i.e.lord of 4th Kendra & 9th trikona)

is also in the 7th house.

My knowledge is based on what I have read in B V

Ramans books that is if a natural malefic owns a

kendra & trikona it becomes a benefic and a natural

benefic becomes a malefic in such a case.

Dear Umesh,

I think 7th house Mars does give problem. Sani gets

DigBala in 7th and he in his own house is strength no

doubt.

Since 5th lord in 7th house with 7th lord, there can

be a love marriage for this person. THe partner will

be aggressive and intelligent. Need to watch out for

accidents etc.

I think we can assume the person will get more

comforts in life after marriage ( I can't say this is

a Raja Yoga as Mars is not even exalted).

Leo is the king himself and the king wins always by waging war... and

who else but mars to help the king!. Thus mars being the yoga karaka

would help the king!

Dear Narahari,

Actually Leo is the King, who wins wars through mars.

So when did Mars become benefic? Or did it ever? Would

you see Mars healing wounds or creating wouds?

Hence my point is that No matter how many good houses

Mars lords, it still is a Malefic. But one may still

gain good fortune for it!

So yes Umesh's Mars in 7th(Marana Karaka Sthana) with

Saturn its enemy, indicates many fights with

spouse/partners. Its bad for the houses lorded by Mars

to be in Marana Karaka Sthana, and hence 9th and 4th

houses will have problems.

Dear Umesh,

I made a mistake by wrongly putting that Mars rules

5th house for Leo ascendant. So, some of what I wrote

is wrong.

My view is Mars in Air Sign promotes intellectual,

even a spiritual partner. While difference may be

there, it may not become serious between the partners!

Generally Mars-Saturn combination is not welcome.

My suggestion as a remedy will be to worship Hanuman

for alleviating troubles if any.

Sani in own house in a kendra causes Sasa Yoga.

he has a chapter on how the various malefic planets

become benefics and visa versa for different

lagans.

Could you please shed some light on this principle

based on your experience for my better understanding

as I'm slightly confused on this.

dear umesh

malefic and benific are relative terms. for example

saturn is a functional benific for thula lagna people.

thsu his placement in kendras and especially 12th and

lagna itself would give the native j=handsome

dividends. mars who is a malefic is a functional

beneifc for dhanu lagna native. this is because all

angle or kona lords are benific for that lagna.

Dear friends!

Malefics are not good in kendras and konas as by their inherent nature, they

can make the native cruel. These postions are better occupied by Benefics

which not only give a very amicable diposition but also make life easier.

You might be knowing that Sarpa yoga happen when all the kendras are

occupied by malefics (naisargika) unless or otherwise broken by benefics in

the 1st or the 7th. The Sarpa yoga is very detrimental to the native and the

native faces many problems in his life....

The 1st and the 7th are known as satya peetha and protect the native from

all evil, hence benefics in these places (irrespective of their functional

nature) is always a boon the native. For these reason only benefics in the

1st or 7th can break a sarpa yoga and save the native from all problems. The

karkatwa (chara and naisargika) of the planet breaking the sarpa yoga will

indicate the persons who can get the native out of the problems. Lagna is

Vishnu Sthana and 7th is Shiva Sthana, a person having well discposed these

houses will have Vishnu and Shiva protecting him from all evils....

Even if no benefic is present in the Lagna or 7th, rasi aspect of benefics

can also ward off many evil.

Functional nature also matters, for illustration for a Gemini Lagna, if Mars

is present in the Lagna, he is also present there as the 6th and 11th lord,

whereas for scorpio lagna, he is present there as Lagna lord. Lagna lord

himself is the great protector of lagna and this placement won't harm the

lagna bhava.. However there still would be problem to some extent but not as

grave as for Gemini Lagna.

The lagna and the 7th goes a long way protecting the native from all

troubles. If they are well placed with naisargika benefic planets, all the

problems will be overcome easily also see whether their lords are well

placed to (so that the house itself remain stronger).

One more thing, if the planet placed in a house is an enemy of any of the

karaka of that bhava, the native suffer wrt the significations of that

bhava. Thats why when Rahu is present in the Lagna, because it is an enemy

of Sun, the native, health suffer. This is a general dictum and can be used

for any bhavas.

For natural malefics, Upachayas are the better place to remain.... Saturn in

my own horoscope in the 7th (dhanu lagna) has created a lot of problem to

me.

you are right. but if you analyze your chart, you can

see that saturn is malefic for you and hence his

position in 7th has caused trouble. not suppose if we

take thula lagna. saturn in 10th is great isn't it,

dhanu lagna mars in 10th is great. he maybe crues as

you have said but, tell me if he was born to be a

tough police officer who could have ordained it except

god.
