Guest guest
Hello everyone, I'm still hoping that some of you have views on whether all aspects have the same quality or whether the disposition of the aspecting planet affects how good/bad the influence is upon the the house/sign receiving the aspect. Here's an example: does a Scorpio Asc Jupiter exalted in the 9th throw better aspects than a Libra Asc Jupiter fallen in the 4th? thanks, doug riemer
Guest guest
Hi Doug, If we are to follow the popularly accepted view of planets being "like humans" then let us apply the analogy out here. If you are exalted/in moolatrikona or in your own house (ask a hostelite about the feeling) you are happy. Hence you would tend to spread the happiness as well as be more kind on other houses. If you are debilitated, then i guess you would be too down to be kind to others (at least to your fullest effects). Hence i guess lordship would matter. I guess in the example below, the scorpio asc. would be happier than the libra asc. though the latter's job situation would be better (i feel). Let me know if i am wrong or missing out on something. Guest guest
In theory if you go by Parasara you could make all this a matter of mathematics. Jupiter fallen is in enemy's sign so it could be almost as bad as debilitated. But other things also come into play (temporary friendship etc.). The way I interpret the chapter on Ishta/Kashta Bala the quality (malefic/benefic) also affects the aspects of the planet (it says the effect should be multiplied). But the aspect and planet (shadbala) strength should also be considered. Obviously this kind of thing is best left to some software. vedic astrology, "Doug Riemer" <vedic@k...> wrote: > Hello everyone, > > I'm still hoping that some of you have views on whether all aspects > have the same quality or whether the disposition of the aspecting > planet affects how good/bad the influence is upon the the house/sign > receiving the aspect. > > Here's an example: does a Scorpio Asc Jupiter exalted in the 9th > throw better aspects than a Libra Asc Jupiter fallen in the 4th? > > thanks, > > doug riemer
Guest guest
Thanks, and thanks to Arnand too for his reply. You both confirm what makes simple sense to me, and also applies the general concept that everything in Vedic Astrogy is cumulative. Yet, James Braha is known for his depth of understanding (in the West at least), and I must wonder if there are others who share his view that the quality of aspects is not affected by the planetary disposition in the chart. If so, I would love to learn the reason behind this apparently contradictory concept. thanks, doug riemer vedic astrology, cjjohans@c... wrote: > In theory if you go by Parasara you could make all > this a matter of mathematics.
