dear doug,

there are quite a number of people who have the venus

connection for medicine. the combinations enumerated

by you are correct. what about 10th lord in navamsa of

sun. is there a clue here. 6th and 8th lord together

give surgical expertise . what do you say

abilities and name and fame in writing.

Dear ParthaSarathy,

 

My wife is a Doctor and is aspiring for MD in OBG or

Psychiatry. She worked with Nimhans (just at the

advent of Rahu Dasa - Rahu in 6th with Mind indicator

Moon !).

 

12th house for her (mithuna) has Sani, Kethu and

Surya.

I think 6th and 12th houses have lot of influence in

her case of becoming a Doctor. Her 12th house is

aspected by Mars from the 9th.

 

I don't know much about Vargas but I see this is a

good enough indication.

 

Even her 10th lord is in pisces again signifying

Medicine.

 

In my view, Venus in lagna for her can give interest

to the field of OBG.

I had forgotten that Venus is medicines - must be my Mercury/Ketu

cojunction with Merc now retrograde!

 

Interesting that 6th and 8th lords together bring surgury - perhaps

the 8th here indicates delving into hidden things in the body, and,

of course, the 8th is Mars' house in the natural zodiac. So that

makes a lot of sense. This is also a Viparita Yoga, giving the rise

needed to become a physician?

 

And, yes, the 10th lord in the Navamsa of the Sun - which I think you

mean to be Leo.

 

Regarding analyzing the chart for writing abilities, I participate

here to share information and ideas and do chart interpretations on a

Venus for medicine ..

 

My partner always wanted to do medicine but missed out his entrance by a few

marks, and ended up as a software developer. His venus is exalted,

vargottama and AK in the 6th. It is also the 8th ruler. But he wanted to be

a psychiatrist, perhaps due to the moon in the 4th as 10th lord and

participating in a strong gajakesari with the exalted vargottama jupiter in

the 10th.

Dear Doug and Partha!

 

Interetsting exchanges on the combinations for medical profession. Infact I

would tend to think that the combinations you mentioned may show inclination

to study medicine or surgery, however making it as a profession can be

better seen from the connexion of these yogas with the 11th from the Arudha

Lagna which shows income. This can be even better confirmed from the Dasamsa

chart.

 

Venus being the ruler of Mriyunjaya Mantra or recovery from diseases makes

sense to be involved in the combination. I would even think Ketu should be

involved for surgeon who make delicate operations and 3rd house to be stong

to show dexterity.

 

Even I have some of these combinations, such as Venus is the 6th Lord(Sg

Lagna) placed in the 8th house. This has given me the inclination towards

the medical discipline, and I am preparing myself to do some deep study in

Medical astrology. Jupiter, the karaka for astrology is there in the 10th

from the AL, might show astrology could be my source of livelyhood. Jupiter

is aspected by the Venus by Rasi Drishti.

 

Any thoughts.....

Ketu ,venus & jupiter combination in chart leads to

medical profession.............

 

main karaka for moksham &Intitution & medicine is

ketu.....one of the person clearly stated that venus

is also a karaka or else there is no diffenence btw

butcher & surgeon it is very true.........

 

The order would be Ketu,venus&Jupiter

Jupiter is also considered because Doctors have to

study a lot ....Initally Theory knowledge later on

practical knowledge......Ketu plays the major role...

 

But if at all the jupiter is stronly placed that

doctor will be compassionate......

I have the chart of a heart surgeon. Leo lagna with ketu placed there. raja

yog in 9th house containing mars, venus and mercury (9th, 10th and 11th

Lord, also 2nd, 3rd and 4th lord). Ascendant ruler sun joins jupiter in 8th

in Pisces. Rahu in the 7th gave marriage outside the community, but within

the same country. Rahu in own sign gave wife from a prominent family. Saturn

in the 2nd aspecting the 4th house gave overseas residence. Sun with Jupiter

gave a strong father. Aspect of saturn on sun gave a self made father. Both

parents were seen as very united and gave the children strong ethical and

idealistic views. Moon in the 6th. I am not aware of any moon related

illnesses. Eldest. Aspect of saturn on 11th? 3 younger siblings. Next is

girl (venus 3rd ruler) who is an academic (venus in 9th). Next is also a

girl, sagittarius ascendant (jupiter ruler of 5th in Pisces?) the next is a

boy(7th ruler saturn/rahu) Saturn in virgo, not sure why this is a boy. This

last sibling had a heart attack quite young. From the 7th, 5th house is

aspected by saturn. Does this indicate problems for the spouse of the sag

ascendant sister? While brothers 5th lord is placed in the 3rd (not too

good), sisters 7th lord is placed in the 5th (love marriage, to a

foreigner - mars rules 12th for sister). The other sister's 9th house is

afflicted by saturn. She was a rebel against her father. She has 3 planets

in the 7th, could indicate multiple marriages. 1st marriage to a foreiger -

mercury rules the 12th. Youngest brother married within community. 7th ruler

sun is with Jupiter in the 2nd in own sign. But aspected by saturn so

marriage took place in a foreign country to someone in the same community.

Thanks, Nimmi.

Looks like his Venus creates a viparita but that his Dasas and

transits either didn't bring the medical or brought the software

career. As Venus is also mathematics, he would do well in that

business, and the exalted Jupiter certainly supports abstract

thinking, especially in its aspect to Pisces/the 6th.
