Guest guest
Dear Visti, Thank you for the lengthy explanation. As you say, Rahu does give research, and that too into occult subjects. Parasara says that Rahu in the 5th from Swamsa makes a jyotishi. Perhaps this is due to Rahu's obsession with the occult. For example I have a friend that has entered Rahu antar, and has taken a sudden interest in the study of jyotish. Rahu is AL lagna lord in the 9th therefrom showing learning. Rahu also rules ghosts and spirits. Perhaps this sloka also refers to the astrologers who communicate with low level spirits in order to get their answers. This is the case with many of the fake Brighu readers, tarot readers, and many astrologer/psychics in the west. BPHS ch 33 sl 44 and Ketu or Rahu in Swamsa or in the 5th from there denotes that one is a Jyotishi. Why is it that Parasar only mentions the nodes, and in particular Ketu for the study of Jyotish, and not specifically Jupiter or Mercury? Perhaps in their time, the only people who would study mathematics in such detail were astrologers, and that is why the nodes indicated astrology?? thoughts? Guest guest
Dear Alex, Rahu sees jyotisha due to it inherent natural aspect on the 5th house. There are two ghotras of jyotisha that prevail at the time, rahu and guru ghotra.. Guru is however, superior, since the rahu ghotra apart from original resarch power, may question the Satya of Guru as it is often the case..thus rahu in 5th from Swamsa, rather from Navamsa would give knowledge of jyotisha, however, for purity GURU must be strong and dominating, or some other purity yoga must exist in the chart. I know a person who can predict very well, Kumba Lagna, however, Rahu is in 9th house giving extreme views, and lack of purity, while guru is placed in 8th house... Guest guest
I have heard and also seen that Rahu gives the influence of Mercury at times. So Rahu and Mercury in Virgo should be a combination for Astrology too, right? If Ketu is in the 11th, then he would render a 5th house aspect on the 3rd house (8th from 8th) and a 7th house aspect on the 5th. Could this have any significance? regards K.Anand __________ Get your free @.co.uk address at http://mail..co.uk or your free @.ie address at http://mail..ie
Guest guest
Aum Gurave Namah Dear Anand! Mercury gets afflicted when associate with a malefic. An afflicted mercury will give flickering and unstable mind and aslo eccentric logical and deduction ability. Can you clarify how Rahu conjoining Mercury give astrology, which requires a stable and balance mind. Ketu is a karaka for intuition and hence its placement in the occult houses, mostly 8th/12th might show good intuition and perception ability of the supernaturals. But mind it, Ketu doesn't cast aspect as it doesn't have head. Guest guest
Dear Mr. Paddar, I do agree with your point of view, as to Me getting afflicted if with a Malefic. We could also look at the situation from another stand-point. Rahu basically introduces a factor of obsesion and a little ego. He is also responsible for occult and research. Me being the karaka for astrology, Ra being with it makes the native want to ponder over the basis of asrology, making him study deeper and conducting research in it. Ra with Me could also give mantra Siddhi which some consider important for Astrology. Astrology being a scinece which is so vast, one can tire soon. An obsessive nature towards the subject might help the native hold on for a long time. These are just ways of looking at it. I have seen a few horoscopes with Me-Ra-Su combos. These people have been saintly and/or astrologically inclined. Some charts with Me-Ra have also shown interest in the ocult and in Astrology. I might be wrong at implying that the Me-Ra combination could be the cause for their inclination. regards K.Anand --- Sarajit Poddar <sarajitp wrote: > > Aum Gurave Namah > Dear Anand! > > Mercury gets afflicted when associate with a > malefic. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah -------------------------- Dear Anand, Can a headless Ketu have eyes? The head has gone with Rahu who has the eyes and also the special aspects. Guest guest
Dear Zoran, This is very interesting about the two ghotras. I know of astrologers who do not believe in God, but think that it is just a science. I understand now that these fall under Rahu's grasp. Many Western astrologers frown on Jyotish's relation to the divine. regards, Alex J vedic astrology, ahimsa@p... wrote: > Dear Alex, > Rahu sees jyotisha due to it inherent natural aspect on the 5th house. > There > are two ghotras of jyotisha that prevail at the time, rahu and guru > ghotra.. > Guru is however, superior, since the rahu ghotra apart from original > resarch > power, may question the Satya of Guru as it is often the case..thus rahu > in > 5th from Swamsa, rather from Navamsa would give knowledge of jyotisha, > however, for purity GURU must be strong and dominating, or some other > purity > yoga must exist in the chart. > I know a person who can predict very well, Kumba Lagna, however, Rahu is > in 9th house giving extreme views, and lack of purity, while guru is > placed in 8th house... > Best wishes, > Zoran
Guest guest
Dear Guruji, I find it difficult to understand that Ketu (though headless) cannot have powers of aspect. if i may quote another example of contradiction, Shiva burnt Manmatha's body but Kama is still the lord of bodily pleasures. So inspite of losing the head couldn't Ketu exercise aspects? Aren't we looking at Ketu/powers of ketu from a very human point of view (that if he doesn't have a head how can he look). Shani too has a downward gaze. How then can he aspect houses ahead of him? I am confused. Please do clarify for me.
