Guest guest
Dear Sarma, I feel that I have to enter here with a number of comments: It is true that different sources describe Jupiter as you did. However from my humble experience this is far from been so. > Jupiter is karaka for a number of factors, like > children, wealth, preceptor, religious > matters, pilgrimages, dips in holy rivers etc.Now > according to"karako bhavanashaka" principle, the > placement of jupiter in the karaka houses should > destroy the indicated things, espicially in his dasa or > antardasas. The above will actually translate into "Jupiter will destroy the significance of the houses he is placed in if he is the karaka for them" - well, that means that Jupiter destroys something in almost every chart ? or ...? I have several examples of this rule being "out of date", where my own chart is a good one: Jupiter is alone in the 5th (in own Sag. and aspected by Rahu from the 9th) - I have three sons (16, 27,30) and a daughter (12), all are well, thanks God. The rule should not be followed blindly - all influences upon the planet in question (aspects, position in the respective divisional chart etc.) must be taken into consideration. I truly believe that only a serious project involving a few thousands of charts with different karaka planets in their houses (accompanied by relevant data of actual status), properly processed and summarized (statistically), can provide satisfying answer as to the validity of this rule. However, like with many other issues it is not an easy task ... In your case it is clear that jupiter is in 5th no doubt,in own house, and aspected by rahu from mesha. Here he represents mars who like jupiter is a male planet,(and mars is jupiter's great friend),his aspect on jupiter from an odd sign surely confers more male children, but being a female planet(as per some classifications) gave you one daughter too.Surely jupiter is not alone in sagittarius since aspect of rahu changes everything. In vedic astrology, there are no hard and fast rules, everything is subject to some modification or the other. There is no need to prove anything in vedic astrology by our "research",it is enough if we learn to know how to apply the mass of knowledge bequeathed to us without hasty conclusions. In any case here is a prediction for you...when jupiter enters cancer, some serious health problems may occur to your children, most probably something like jaundice. Please verify next year and if you remember me, let me know. sarma. > > > - > "r.sathyanarayana sharma" > <rssharmabza > <vedic astrology> > Tuesday, September 04, 2001 6:42 PM > Re: [vedic astrology] Re: (unknown) > > > > dear nimmi raghavan, > > Jupiter .......... > > It is observed that it usually happens, but > > not verbatim.Suppose jupiter is in 5 th in a > chart,it > > may not mean the native will be deprived of > children > > totally. In most of the cases sons will either die > as > > infants, or there will be a plethora of female > > children, who will thrive well. But to do this type > of > > harm, jupiter should be alone in the house.IF > anyother > > planet is with him this rule will be subject to > > modification as observed in many cases. One more > > important thing...only one or two karakatwas will > get > > destroyed, but not all things indicated by that > house > > as well as by jupiter. For this I think we have to > see > > the state of the lord of that particular house, in > > rasi as well as navamsa and ofcourse,in other > relevant > > divisional charts too.It is not my intention to > deny > > the natural benefic nature of jupiter, but benefic > and > > malefic are relative terms.Benefic in what sense > and > > malefic in what sense?Saturn and Rahu the most > natural > > malefics, appear to have done immense good to many > > persons in their dasas. There is a quotation in the > > classical texts" jeevo kurvanti sthana > > haanischa, mandou sthana vridhihi".I request the > > members for their valuable opinions and their > > observations on this rule. > > sarma > > > > > __________ > > > > Send a newsletter, share photos & files, conduct > polls, organize chat events. Guest guest
Dear Sarma, Please read my comments within your text (***). Regards /Jay > It has become the order of the day with many so called > astrologers to dismiss the validity of ancient > principles of jyotisha based on their experiences > which in fact turn out to be none other than > subjective observations. *** Generally I agree with you - but not in my case - I do respect the rules but at the same time can see that some of them do not always apply blindly. > In your case it is clear that jupiter is > in 5th no doubt,in own house, and aspected by rahu > from mesha. Here he represents mars who like jupiter is > a male planet,(and mars is jupiter's great friend), his > aspect on jupiter from an odd sign surely confers more > male children, but being a female planet(as per some > classifications) gave you one daughter too. *** Probably so, but Mars is debilitated in the 12th and not at all in good company (Saturn) ... > In any case here is a prediction for > you...when jupiter enters cancer, some serious health > problems may occur to your children, most probably > something like jaundice. Please verify next year and if > you remember me, let me know. *** I sure will. However when Jupiter is in Cancer he will be in conjunction with both Mars (L4&9 for natal and L5&12 for the 5th in 8th) and Saturn (L6&7 for natal and L2&3 for the 5th in 8th) within a few month. As lord of 8th&5th and been in the 8th from the 5th I do not exclude the possibility that some event related to a child may occur. > sarma. > > > > > > - > > "r.sathyanarayana sharma" > > <rssharmabza > > <vedic astrology> > > Tuesday, September 04, 2001 6:42 PM > > Re: [vedic astrology] Re: (unknown) > > > >
