Guest guest
Hi, PRANAM I am a student of Vedic Astrology too. I think benefics as lords of kendras are not good, where as malefics as lord of kendra;s are good. However, placement of benefics in kendras are good than malefics occupying kendras. I would like to know more from other more learned people here. Thanks and Regards Katti Narahari vedic astrology, Cool Handsome <realnicepal_007> wrote: > Hi , > > Namaste... > > I'm a beginner to astrology...Please help... > > What is the result ,if all the quadrants are occupied > in a horoscope,like below . > +--------------+ > | | | | | > | | | | | > | Jupiter | | | | > | | Ket | | Mar | > | | | | | > |-----------+-----------------------+-----------| > | | | | > | | | | > | | | sat | > | | | | > | | | | > |-----------| Rasi |-----------| > | | | | > | | | | > | | | Gulika | > | | | | > | | | | > |-----------+-----------------------+-----------| > |Moon | |Sun | Asc | > | | |Mer | Ven | > | | |Rah | | > | | | | | > | | | | | > +--------------+ > > +--------------+ > | | | | | > | | | | | > | Asc | | | | > | | Sun | | Rah | > | | | | | > |-----------+-----------------------+-----------| > | | | | > | | | | > | Ven | | | > | | | | > | | | | > |-----------| Navamsa |-----------| > | | | | > | | | | > | Jup | | | > | | | | > | | | | > |-----------+-----------------------+-----------| > | Mer | | | | > | Mar | | | Sat | > | Ket | | | Moon | > | | | | | > | | | | | > +--------------+ > > Thanks & Regards, > Hareesh. > > > > Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Messenger > http://phonecard./
Guest guest
Hi, If you just look at what Kendras mean, which is "power", you will understand them alot better. Benefics in Kendras become powerful, which is different from becoming better, or enhanced in a trine. For example, in Aries Ascendant, the Moon is empowered by ruling the 4th, but this power does not, and cannot fully bring lunar benefits, and the power of the kendra may make the person overly emotional. As a karaka for the mother, this Moon gives the mother power but some unhappiness too in her life. Yet, Aries Moons bring great benefits as well. These folks can achieve more lunar life benefits - happiness, easily flowing emotions, good skills with the public, fertility.... The most interesting kendra rulerships I've seen is Jupiter for Virgo Ascendants. In several charts I've done recently, every one of the clients has Jupiter type problems - wealth, wisdom, children, faith... So, in this case, the Kendra's power doesn't function well at all, perhaps because such a pumped up Jupiter is too much for Jupiter's significations. So, don't just follow the texts that say rulerships of Kendras makes the planet a functional malefic, but rather look at the nature of the benefic, the specific Kendra(s) the planet rules and the overall disposition of the chart. To better understand this concept of power, look at some charts with no planets placed in Kendras, and you'll almost always see a person who has great difficulty in achievement - no power. As regards malefics ruling kendras, again consider the concept of power. An Aries rising chart may suffer from too much Mars impulsiveness, but Saturn ruling the 10th enhances Saturn's power of organiztion, structure, responsibility and duty - giving balance to the chart. Yet, a malefic is always a malefic, so Saturn's restrictions and delays are also enhanced. Along with this, please consider that it is not just the planets which are influenced but the houses as well. Staying with Aries Asc, the 4th house greatly benefits from the Moon's rulership. So the person enjoys nice homes and other fixed assets, has a good nurturing family, does well in college and has an emotional bond with god. Similarly, 10th house career achievement tends to be Saturnian, with stops and starts, slow progress, sometimes menial jobs.... Hope is is helpful. doug rieer vedic astrology, "Hari" <newtoindia2000> wrote: > > Hi, > > PRANAM > > I am a student of Vedic Astrology too. Guest guest
Things are not that simple. I have a chart, aries ascendant with moon in the 4th in aslesha. This person lost wife, family, home etc. The mother was not particularly powerful, and was in fact subject to fits. On the whole an unfortunate personal life, but quite a good professional life. Saturn as 10th lord is in the 9th aspected by the 1st lord mars from the 3rd, constituting a raja yoga involving the ascendant and 10th ruler. His achievements were all from his own efforts. Lots of initiative. However, the saturn in the 9th also made him a hypocrite! I think, that far more than planetary strengths etc, yogas drive a chart far more strongly in producing results. Individual planets by themselves, the significations are not reliable. - <vedic <vedic astrology> Wednesday, August 29, 2001 1:33 AM [vedic astrology] Re: Quadrants in a horoscope. > > Hi, > > If you just look at what Kendras mean, which is "power", you will > understand them alot better. Guest guest
Hi Nimmi, I agree - things are not that simple. As I stated in my first reply, "So, don't just follow the texts that say rulerships of Kendras makes the planet a functional malefic, but rather look at the nature of the benefic, the specific Kendra(s) the planet rules and the overall disposition of the chart." The "power" influence of Kendra rulerships is operative, but so are many other influences. In the example you quoted, 10th ruler Saturn is apparently very favorably disposed - but the career must still have some Saturnian qualities, and the 9th house must be injured by Saturn. As regards Yogas, they can be highly impactive, but then sometimes they are not. Yoga results first depend upon the Dasas, of course, but also transit positions - most importantly Jupiter and Saturn. You said the mother in this chart is not described simply by the Moon ruling the 4th. Did you also consider the Moon's house/sign placement, aspects to the Moon, lunar brightness, influences upon the 4th house and the disposition of Mercury - which last is a karaka of the mother that is sometimes overlooked? Other powerful techniques that should be applied include Ashtakavarga and whether any planets are stationary direct. The Navamsha, if a reliable birth time is known, is also valuable to consider. I personally find that Astrocartography is invaluable, often giving reason to success or failure that is otherwise not seen in traditinal Vedic analysis. Another thought is the Virgo Asc. Jupiterian problems I mentioned, which relate not just to Jupiter ruling two Kendras but also the difficulties caused by generally unfavorable rulerships for this Asc. It is important to keep in mind that any area of life is dependent upon many, many influences which are cumulative and that life is long. Any evaluation must consider the unfolding karmas in the Dasas and the transits over the term of the life. To do good predictive work, the fundamentals must be understood well and applied thoughtfully - keeping in mind that individual charts often appear to contradict fundamentals because of unusual Yogas and/or other individual significations. Take 15 or so Aries rising charts and see how the mother and career function to best perceive the river of life's nature and not be mislead by seasonal rainfalls and "snapshot" analysis of a short stretch of the river. Probably the best fundamentals text is James Braha's Ancient Hindu Astrology, and his new book "The Art and Practice of Ancient Hindu Astrology" is an in depth treatese of fundamentals application. Good luck and keep studying charts. Namaste, doug riemer vedic astrology, "Nimmi Ragavan" <106350.3660@c...> wrote: > Things are not that simple. Guest guest
Hi Doug, Moon is in its own sign. It is participating in a Gajakesari yoga as Jupiter is in ascendadnt. There are no aspects from malefics as rahu is in 1, mars in 3, saturn in 9. Mercury is in ascendant as well. You would have to draw a very long bow to see anything obviously wrong. It is an Aries ascendant, not virgo. A local astrologer in Sri Lanka took one look at this chart and called the native a rogue to his face. Now that is clever (and correct) and amazing with this nice chart with a moon in own sign in the 4th with digbala and participating in a GKY! Guest guest
Hi Nimmi, I stand by my thoughts to consider everything in the chart and not just focus upon Yogas and/or other prominant dispositions. I will mention to you, however, that the Mars/Saturn Raja Yoga created by mutual aspect which promotes career seems to result in the person being a hypocrite and a rogue (as per your previous messages.) If you consider the malefic natures of Saturn and Mars, along with the houses they rule, you'll understand that the career promotion is at the cost of a criminal mind - Saturn is authority figures, and Mars' energy brings abuse of authority. So, the lesson here is to look beyond the mere existance of the Yoga at all the underlying and cumulative influences. doug vedic astrology, "Nimmi Ragavan" <106350.3660@c...> wrote: > Hi Doug, > > Moon is in its own sign. Guest guest
Dear Doug, It is not all that simple. I have other charts where saturn and mars are not in sag/gemini where the person definitely is NOT a hypocrite or rogue. I think here you have to take into consideration the aspects from Rahu as well on the 9th house, its affliction of Jupiter, before such a conclusion. Mars is in a sign for about 45 days - it would be rather drastic to rule that everyone born in that period would have a criminal mind etc. In this case, the nakshatra is also aslesha, given to extremes of secrecy. There are aspects of this nakshatra even in people who do not necessarily exhibit its worst qualities that are, to say the least, interesting. Regards, Nimmi - <vedic <vedic astrology> Saturday, September 01, 2001 7:36 AM [vedic astrology] Re: Quadrants in a horoscope. > > Hi Nimmi, > I stand by my thoughts to consider everything in the chart and not > just focus upon Yogas and/or other prominant dispositions. > > I will mention to you, however, that the Mars/Saturn Raja Yoga > created by mutual aspect which promotes career seems to result in the > person being a hypocrite and a rogue (as per your previous > messages.) Guest guest
Good thoughts, Nimmi.. You always want to find confluence for traits. Not having the chart at hand, I do believe that Rahu/Ketu throw aspects, and as shadow planets, it seems often these aspects are illuminated during their Dasas and subperiods. The German tank commander, Rommel, is a textbook case of this. I agree to about the Ashlesha Moon - very difficult, especially for Aries, Asc case like this. The Moon does not like snakes and secrets. I try to use the Nakshatras as much as possible and admit I don't always fully consider them. And, yes, Jupiter's condition is invaluable as well. As a side comment, I find that a badly injured Jupiter, brings all kinds of problems, especially if the 9th is also injured. My exerience has been that one of the worst significations is a fallen Jupiter, by the way. best, doug vedic astrology, "Nimmi Ragavan" <106350.3660@c...> wrote: > Dear Doug, > > It is not all that simple. Guest guest
Hi Phyl, I have Rommel's birthchart from a lecture Jim Kelleher gave an an ACVA conference two years ago in Phoenix - but I don't have the birth data. Jim Kelleher's e-mail is jinsen I hope he will share the info with you. I can give you the birthchart: Cap rising 20 degree, Jup in 2nd, Moon in 4th, Rahu in 5th, Sun in 8th, Mars & Sat in 9th, ven, merc & Ketu in 11th. Note: It was when he went into his Rahu dasa that he became famous as a tank commander. I think that Rahu is science and that it aspects the 9th (where Mars & Sat. are placed), and the 1st. That 5th house placement in Taurus would certainly give the creativity, especially with the Merc & Venus aspects from the 11th. doug vedic astrology, "Phyl Chubb MA" <aboutyou@c...> wrote: > Good Morning Doug, > > Would you be kind enough to share Rommel's birth data with me, if you have > it?
