Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to you and all members!

I do not use Raman ayanamsa or recommend it. Yes, one would get

slightly different calculations with Lahiri ayanamsa for the examples

in his books and *sometimes* it makes a difference.

But I do not see that as an obstacle in benefitting from his books.

His books teach valid and genuine principles and one can learn.

Though he does not discuss divisional charts much, the basic idea is

the same between rasi chart and vargas.

If you want a perfect book with perfect calculations and perfect

explanations everywhere, there aren't many (or perhaps any).

You may disagree with this attitude, but let us leave it there.

If you look for puzzles posted by members (esp in 1999), you will

find some puzzles attempted by me and other members (some correctly,

some incorrectly). You can search the archives for the discussions of

1999, in which a lot of good activity - theoretical & practical -

took place here.

I quickly browsed through the first few months of this list and found

following:

(1) vedic astrology/message/467

(answer in post 546)

(2) vedic astrology/message/196

(3) Puzzle in

vedic astrology/message/438,

blind answers in 441 & 446, answer in 444, explanation in 447

(4) Post 690 is an interesting variation of blind vs post-mortem.

Read 690, 691 and 694 for an interesting event where the post-mortem

of an event that did not happen turned out into a correct prediction!

I gave a post-mortem, the native reported that my assumption of event

date was wrong, and found out after going home that it was right

after all.

There were many more blind analyses by members and me in the past.

Just read the archives.

OK, got to sleep now...

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha
