Sept'1947?

Yes,DST was observed until 15/10/45.India was not on a common meridian time

until 15/8/1947. A number of citiesused local time. In Madras LMT was 5:21.

Thank you very mush for the informations. One question - Can I conclude that

present IST was being observed in Bengal, Assam & Bihar before Oct'1941,

1.11.41 & 1.12.41 respectively?
