Dear Friends,

Does anyone know that the formula is for converting the rashi position

of a planet to its equivalent in degrees / minutes for the Saptavimsamsa

(D-27)? A number of programs are offering this feature (on all the

"D"charts) and I'd be interested to know what it is.

Thank you.

Many blessings,

Aum

Dear Peter.

I think this is what you mean;

1. Take the degree of the graha and remove multiples of the varga-span.

2. Find the fraction covered by the remainder of the removed multiples.

3. Multiply this remainder by 30 degrees.

Example: 29:33:10 Scorpio.

This belongs to the Saptavimsamsa/Nakshatramsa(D-27) of Pisces.

The each Saptavimsamsa is 1:06:40 deg.

1. Removing multiples of 1:06:40 from 29:33:10, we get = 0:39:50.

2. Dividing 0:39:50 with the span of each Saptavimsamsa we get; 0:39:50/1:06:40 = ~3/5ths approx.

3. Multiplying this with 30 we get; 17:55:30 degrees passed in its Saptavimsamsa.

The calculations are there, but are of no use.

Degrees do not become signficant when using varga charts. Only if you use Rasi

alone will they become signficant.

The fact is, that the closer a conjunction is in Rasi, the more Vargas it

repeats itself in, hence no need to consider degrees, if you are using all the

Divisional Charts.

Best wishes, Visti.
