I'll initiate my return from hollidays, with an answer to your reply.

 

The reason for taking Mars for logic, is because Mars is the

signfiicator for Nyaya(logic).

 

A strong connection between Mars and Mercury is enough to give a

person a very direct and clear form of intellect(that finds the

answers either too quickly, or isn't satisfied.. depending on mars).

 

Saturn gives stable however limited approach to such.
