Guest guest
Dear Visti, Pranam. >Dear Dhira. >On what basis have you taken an ayanamsa thats 2 degrees different from >Lahiri? >Isn't that stretching it abit too much? I don't think this is stretching too much, after all, BV Raman accepted an ayanamsa which is 1 degree 27 different from Lahiri. BV Raman is an experienced astrologer, why he differed from Lahiri that much? And there is also Ushi-shashi who takes an even greater difference of about 3 degrees 37. Well, with due regard to Ushi-sashi (btw, do you have info who is Ushi-sashi?), I personally think that's far too off the reality, but I accept this ayanamsa of mine on the basis of my personal experience. My Vimsottari dasha just looks perfect like this. >I can barely find a 1 arc error in Lahiri! OK, let's have a puzzle to test our ayanamsa. With Lahiri, try to find out what happened on May 14th 2001 at 1:30 am local time (coordinates of my birthplace) TZ GMT +1 with 1 hour daylight savings, which resulted in the activity on May 17th 2001 at 10 am. All attempts are welcome. Maybe others can also have a try? Your sishya, Dhira Krsna dasa
Guest guest
Dear Dhira Krsna, Namaste. BV Raman, never openly came forward with his Ayanamsa, only until later on did people discover that he had shifted from Lahiri to a different Ayanamsa, but he never stated its name nor why he had used it. The main point here is that he had used Lahiri for a long time, and didn't tell anyone to use his Ayanamsa. Now ponder why none of the astrologers taught and researching by his side, used the so called; "Raman Ayanamsa". As for timing events as an example, this won't help anyone decide if the astrologer doesn't have any predictive strength. Instead tell us why one event couldn't have happened using Lahiri Ayanamsa, and why it could with yours. Make sure you use the relevant varga, and then we have ourselves a propper discussion. There is Raman's ephimeris also which uses his ayanamsa to calculate planetary positions.
