Namaste Narasimha,

I downloaded your software "Jagannatha Hora Lite". It is very useful

indeed even though I have been using Parashara's light 2000. There is

a slight discrepancy regarding the nodes longitude. Are you using mean

nodes instead of true nodes?

Please, shed your light on this for I have more than one degree

difference which change things in the divisional charts.

With much respect,

Franck

Namaste Franck,

Jagannatha Hora Lite uses mean nodes, and this is as per Sage Parasara that

Nodes are always retrograde. But the *True* nodes are sometimes in direct

motion. Hence you will find some discrepancy between the two. Our suggestion is

to follow Parasara.

Narayan

(1) Yes, I am using mean nodes in JHLite.

(2) This is controversy, but authorities in India use mean nodes.

(3) Maharshis (sages) taught that Rahu and Ketu are always

retrograde. Though mean nodes are, the so-called true nodes aren't.

They are overall retrograde, but have a temporary direct motion

occasionally.

(4) Though the term "true node" may suggest that the other variation

is not true, there is, in reality, nothing "true" about true nodes.

Both true nodes and mean nodes are hypothetical points.

(5) Positions of nodes in some divisional charts change with a

different option used. In my studies in Narayana dasa of divisional

charts, I found cases where things make much better sense with mean

nodes.

(6) My guru (Pt. Sanjay Rath) teaches to use the so-called mean nodes.

Based on all the factors, I used mean nodes in JHLite.

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha
