Guest guest
Dear friends, Ths is not the first time, we are getting VIRUS alerts on this list. Narasimha has earlier requested the members not to post VIRUS alerts to this list. Out of these alerts most of the mails turn out to be hoax mails, thus wasting lot of valueble members. If you observe a VIRUS with one of the mail on this list, sending a alert mail is permissible. But, forwarding VIRUS alert mails (even if they are genuine) to the list is unwarranted. Those who access this list from office, need not bother, as Administrators keep a watch on VIRUS's and they do send any guinine alerts by themselves. For those who have PCs in home, any number of alerts would not suffice. There is only one solution. Any file you get from outside, (via EMAIL attachment are one downloaded from NET), check for VIRUS. Confirm it with the sender of the file that it does not contain a VIRUS and only then run it. Guide Lines: 1. Don't send VIRUS alert mails to the list 2. If some one did, don't send doubt mails or follow-up mails to the list. Instead send them to the one who send the VIRUS alert. Best regards, Vijay.
