Guest guest
Hello Ashish, I am not sure of your knowledge. When I had started, I read quite a few books. The first 2 books which provided me the understanding and the basics to grasp what was written in the others were: (1) James Braha's book -- Ancient Hindu Astrology for the modern Western Astrologer (2) K.N. Rao's -- Learning Hindu Astrology easily. The first book is good to provide a hi-level understanding. The second is better to take you to the next level and provide easy techniques to memorize the essential basics (provides reasons for formulas) which Visti mentions. After reading and grasping these two books, you will know sufficient to pursue your knowledge i.e. pick up almost any other book and start to decipher it. I have provided the same guidance to other people who have struggled initially. Unanimously, they agree that these books are great. Best Regards, SA "Visti Larsen" <vlarsen on 05/30/2001 05:08:42 AM Please respond to vedic astrology <vedic astrology> cc: Re: [vedic astrology] New to Astrology Dear Ashish. Its correct to asume that it takes long to master Jyotish. Get Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra, i recommend Santhanam edition of Sharmas. Read the first chapter and memorise it, then slowly move onto the next chapters. Read the stories of the avatars.. This will give you unmeasurable ease later on. Read the archives regularly, and when you feel ready to dedicate yourself fully to Jyotish get a guru. Best wishes, Visti. - karu vedic astrology Wednesday, May 30, 2001 1:55 PM Re: [vedic astrology] New to Astrology Dear Ashish, I may be wrong. But it is my duty that inform you what I think. The knowledge cannot be grasped within few years. To start, please read Books written by Srila Prabhupada for now. Thanks for the opportunity. Karu Dear All , I have joined this group recently and interested in study of astrology , can any one guide me into right direction and point to links and books for starters.
