Guest guest
Dear Nalini, Hindism as such is mosaic or stream of thinking as most of know only the monolith religion who wanted to brand the non Hindus, Muslims gave us the name else Sanatana Dharma has shaivasm, Vaishnism, Shaktism and over 33 crore deities. Well this vedic heritage mixed religion with science as we can neither see god or atomic particles, in both the cases the seeker needs to have special skills, and AIDS to see them. just as the myth atom was the smallest particle was broken and other sub atomic elements emerge the diverse deities too who are but atomic break ups will be rediscovered by scinece in future. as Swami Vivekakanda said science will prove what religion always said. there were some curruption, distortions in some interpretations but Vedic scriptures had more in them than we can imagine and some effort is needed to study them again for a few generations. ABOUT THE HELP YOU SAID THIS IS A FACT IN SOUTH, TN, AP, KARNATAK earlier Kerala that there is massive conversion already in place it may surprise you all thatr AP is 45% converted not offical figure of 14% as most maintian Hindu names still. My sister had a few maids who did the same to her, she had them to baby sit and go with her for shopping, temples etc the maids never entered temples and REFUSED TO EAT FOOD GIVEN TO THEM (these are fresh food as they ate not left overs) as they object to any food that was offered to our Gods is blasmpmous to them.these maids initially when employed could be Hindu miday were converted. only men are still caught in Ayappa cult, children, women are mostly converted. travel by any transport talk to a few you can see the facts yourself. THE LAND THAT PRODUCED THINKERS LIKE RAJA RAM MOHAN ROY, VIDYASAGAR, DAYANANDA SARASWATI, SRI RAMAKRISHNA PARAHAMSA, SWAMI VIVEKANAND, AUROBINOD is destroyed by just a single mercenery. who came to Calcutta as part of the main missionay but set up a benami front `missions of charity' which cared only for the numbers converted that was possible only by caring for the dying not living. her Nobel prize speach or wikepida referece is well balanced good and bad please read it we know the apparent good thigns but not ther eacl pictue of the good itself and not aware of the -ve things Mother Teresa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Bishop Desmond Tuto, of South africa or Karamchand Gandhi then in S. africa were great men, in oppressive regimes achieved much for the suffering masses. there is a good Bishop in delhi who cared for the street children gave them education, health, a status in life who are not talked about.even if he convrted it doesnt' matter as he has done something useful. in giving shape to their lives similarly I had pointed the life of Karachi's Abdul Sattar Edhi (a poor man himself but has grown n as a missionary has no personal wealth or even clothing is like Mahatma Gandhi's) who has done a lot more purely on humanatrian fronts whom we need to respect irrespective of our faith his contribution in last 30 years deserves a Nobel prize, his work in Oct 8 quake in PoK us also huge. Please see the total picture when readers comment I am not religiously biased as there are good people whomwe have to rightly identify in all faiths that is all. prashant auromirra19 <nalini2818 wrote: {Om Namo Narayanaya} Dear Prashantji, What You say makes sense. Hinduism is focused on Satwa, does not believe in force or impose anything on anyone. Whereas the other religions have based their teachings on abandoning your own and embracing theirs. I had a help at home who was a christian, who refused to put the "Kolam' everyday(Rangoli every morning} as she said she is afraid of doing it, incurring the wrath of God etc.. While I had no objection of her going to church every sunday, bring back the offerings from there she was adamant. Why is it that the element of religiousness borders on fanaticism? Though Christ was an epitome of compassion, sacrifice and love , the propagators of the religion are strangely diverse. I could see them flocking the tsunami affected seasides in Chennai, seeking to convert whatever remained. In fact 90% of the fisherfolk devastated were christians. Dose nature spare religion. Ultimately God wants his children to know him as He is, if it pleases you to be a christian, Muslim, Hindu be it so. Attain him in peace not violence and bloodshed. An interesting analogy comes to my mind, we all regularly, went to the Malayappan of Tirumala by foot. I used to reach the padivasal in about 3and ahalf to 4 hrs. my husband and children in about 2hr 45 mins. We all reached the summit, we did it in our way, the way we could to the best of our efforts, everything focused on reaching Him alone. Is that not what the Supreme intends for us , to reach him in our own way, in our own time. Why impose that this is the only way to reach God and that every otherway does not take you there. Here we are hearing of the only ways to attain the Supreme? Like you said,Why not leave it and find a way of coming together to find a unified way of finding the true spirit of Hinduism and play our part in restoring its Glory. Guest guest
dear contributors, while we are finding out the fanatic approach of the christianity and also some mails talk about the violent approach of Islam, at this juncture I wish to share my views. conversion to christianity was basically because of poverty and not of true devotion to God of that particular religion. After converting themselves they are indoctrinated to do as per the sermons given by the pastor or mullah's. but in spite of all these extreme approach still we have individuals whom we should acknowledge as good souls. For eg the promoter of this web site is a Muslim from Bangla desh, he has developed faith in our religion and he is doing a yeoman service. President abdul kalam is quite conversant with Hindu scriptures. late Ismail ( High court Judge) was well versed with Ramayana and Mahabharatha. Unfortunately the numbers in other religions are few to accept or have faith and tolerance towards other religion. with good wishes, k.gopu
