RR,

AFTER A LONG timw on thinking if I should respond or take it in my stide iI

felt in the interest of the group it must roll on to set the record straight.

THERE IS ONE THING I MUST APOLOGISE THE WHOLE DEBATE WOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED

IF THE JOB THAT ONLY RR DOES was not taken by me. I wated the Qurent to

explain what she wanted not dig at her.

why u miss the point and make ONLY NOISE,i said the qurent did not ask anyting

anyone could make sense or read so asked her to put it across again.

in case she can find ways to do it

AND ENGLISH in different forms, I did not contest BUT RATHER PUT IT across.

just to add like how French, German, Arabs make it sound different with their

mother tounge playing a role.

not ingoring the various sub dilects like, Welsh, Kent, Scotish English, Least

You feel I've left them...!

AND Inglish as you suggest is no problem with me, the point was about the

writer's mail.

DID i contest Swami vivekananda anywhere for the jibe it was just the sound

here.

THIS FACT THAT MOTHER TOUNGE HAS AN IMPACT IS well researched and documented.

not my theory. the varouos bodies that are around to make English, or Language

learning more successful.

ABOUT MY SHORT CUTS I HOPE YOU HAVE USED INTERNET FOR SOME YEARS BY NOW!

MOST WEB BROWSERS, REDIFF, , MSN etc have a section called Net Jargom it

is standard and phonitic.

NOT ARROGANT

and for someone whose name was in long threads on HAVING a poll conducted for

` THE MOST ARROGENT PERSON in the group,to call anyone else is strange.

AND REMEMBER I HAD NO PART IN IT, IT WAS THE MOST POUPLAR THING it was said

and sure is, by this mail

but for today's mail on Vasya i rarely seen you discuss astrology or related

comments just critisize, make fun, draw the drift? what else can u call

HYPOCRACY. it is useful if comments are constructive as today on Vasya. and

some debate thant just to show how arragont you are.

I STAKE STRONG OBJECTION TO THE FOLLOWING AND HOPE Mr. TANIVIR STEPS IN AND

SETS THE ORDER

calling me having double personality is a baseless allegation and tanvir

shall take note of it fact of RR's calling ME as having one image and doing

another as CHARACTER ASSASINATION or PERSONAL ASSAULT and I ask tanvir to

restore decency in the group, for all members.

IT IS needless to RESTATE that I belong to the founding members of ICAS,

india's premier astro institute and having spent two and half decades of

experience in reading charts as well as TEACHING ASTROLOGY

dont think that I am some tom, dick or harry.

I had earlier told you I had some vision problems and to save time and help

more no of people have used short cuts which are common knowledge.

even in an earlier occassion when I had asked RR to expand on something he

said, he replied as though I had asked him if I were TANVIR (the host here I

guess) but then how does he take the role of TANVIR in taking digs at everyone

in the group, if there is one posting that HAS NOT ATTRACTED RR's acid wash

please stand up, time to celeberate it. the lucky ones

English is not ONE language any more. With British invasion encompassing pretty

much all of the world as we know it, the language

has left its mark all over the globe pretty much.

English varies a lot depending on where you are, where you go!

Accents differ, idioms change, drastically!

Let us not, in this global flux make language an issue, particularly a

language that is not really even ours!

Whether we spell his name Vivekananda or Bibekanondo (really! and not

Bibekananda if you must know!) means diddly if we do not know what he spake to

us of! If you catch my drift!

Same deal for others!!

Your supercillious remark about someone else's english when you yourself use

some rather strange syntax and shortcuts is at the very least strangely

arrogant, considering that you try so hard to come

across as someone otherwise!

Remember this! I will continue to point out even if it takes me to Roke

someone in the eye and be obnoxious when I see discrepancies between how people

tout to be and what they come across as!

You can count on it, whether you like it or not!

I have seen all kinds and forms of hypocrisy on the jyotish scene and like it

or not, those who to that SHALL hear from me, one way or another!

Dear All,

At the end, reading the mail of RR ji and Prashant ji on Vasya and

Hinglish, I feel like appreciating RR ji for starting this

controversy. ;) Brushing away all the thorny accusations, conveyed

between RR ji and Prashant ji, if somebody looks at those

conversations, I think they also would feel the same. :) Look at the

good amount of info poured in by Prashanji and RR ji (and yes by me

too) by way of arguments!! Those messages convey a very good amount

of useful info though not directly related to astrology!! If there

was not such a controversy I don't think such info on language and

logic will appear in this forum. ;)

So, yes, at the end, I feel like appreciating the controversy

started by RR ji. :) I think this view makes sense. Yes, occasionally

we need such arguments!! But just need to brush away or avoid such

thorny accusations and the ego hurdle!!

Love,

Sreenadh

Prashant,

Your allegations are baseless. I hardly know you or care to know

about your form or content as a human being or jyotishi or whatever --

so I am not sure why you allege that called you a double personality

or other things :-)

Your vision or the consequences thereof have nothing to do with this

and I have never ever mentioned anything about that.

Since you are directly attacking me by name, which is something I

prefer better than how some people discharge their negative emotions,

frustrations, other negative feelings etc.

What I find objectionable about your writing is that you criticise

others for the very things that you yourself are guilty of, namely:

sarcasm

long winding messages

difficult to understand style at times.

I am not perfect and I never said so. I write long messages, I can be

sarcastic at times, my syntax and run-on sentences (at least in

jyotish writings), I know irritate some and are appreciated by some.

But I only attack individuals in response and in defense. I am very

aware of the saying: Those who live in glass houses should not throw

a stone at others. But if a stone is heading this way, don't expect

me to hide and play lamb!

I know there is a segment of jyotishis that hates my guts because I

don't let them get away with just writing something as if it is some

gospel truth. They make loud noises and voice assumptions

like, "Jyotish is science" and feel threatened and challenged when

someone even non-challengingly requests illustrations or even proof.

No scientist would ever feel threatened or challenged by such

requests. Some jyotishis have this wrong assumption that they are

somehow the bearers of the burden of proof for jyotish. It is too

huge for all of our shoulders even if we were to join those. They

take questions aimed at jyotish personally as if their personal

integrity is on the line and being attacked. Then there are those

that would immediately bring up classics as if they are

incontrovertible proof of anything. Most classics are really

wonderful collections of possibilities and not certainties. Many

astrologers get so happy when they find a few combinations given in

some classics to work out in a chart. That is interesting but not

enough to convince people out there, outside the club of jyotishis

and jyotish afficianodos. Now some individuals may be blase' about

that and do not feel it necessary to convince anybody, but that is

their opinion. Then there are many preconceived notions in jyotish

and a certain elitist mentality in certain groups of individuals. I

feel it necessary to challenge these misconceptions and will continue

with or without your or anyone's blessings.

Just so you know, where I am coming from ...

Dear RR ji,

while reading through your passing comments to all the other mails,

I was thinking that, you will just continue to feel exalted and

nothing worthy is going to come out today. ;) But this mail was

really different one. Thank you for that. :)

Though I disagree with many of the ideas expressed it was really

good reading stuff. :) I was really impressed with the last para -

> No scientist would ever feel threatened or challenged by such
