Hi RR,

IT is not derogratory, it is more when people use theor thoughts in mother

tounge (where it can be medium of learning as well) no fault of theirs but the

system under which they r taught.

TRUE THE OTHER FORMS LIKE U SAID DO EXIST

with Hinglish u can find ischool, isteel, ismile, astro-logy, bio-logy,

eco-nomy etc the near phonetic sounds r used here.

similar

Bengali bibekananda for vivekananda

Rabindranath = Ravindranath

the most pouplar quote I remember is forgot the name bhy r u standing in the

bharanda...? (why and varanda)

tamil cero, suse, badthma, COBAL, buri, betrol...

for zero, juice, padma, Gopal, puri, petrol

u will find telugu speaking using jero, mujic, jig-jag, for zero, music,

zig-zag

so it is more medium of learing that interefere with thought/expression.

as this person did not put the question in anyway I cud understnad, if u did

pl let me know.

I saw a similar posting by an girlwho is an MBA, CLAIMED She was a topper all

I am curious. What is this hinglish you refer to?

I don't wish to jump to the conclusion that that term is a derogatory

remark implying that hindi-speaking individuals are not capable of

speaking proper english! So please enlighten us what you implied.

Is there a Banglish, Gujringlish, Marathinglish, taminglish,

teluglish, oriainglish, kannanglish, rajinglish, punjinglish too?

Thanks

dear prashant ji

your observations is correct. two decades ago in hyderabad, when i

studied a course in Central Insutite of English and Foreign

Languages (CIEFL), they gave us a book which narrates common errors

in indian english which narrates all the things mentioned by you. i

think their publications are available for sale. their website is

www.ciefl.ac.in

this also reminds me of a real incident happened in an MNC where i

worked 15 years ago. once the bengali boss asked the server to get

some "bada". the server asked the boss in hindi "sir i would get

the large one but what is it that you want large". then the boss

scolded the servant for his not knowing what "bada" is. then i

explained the servant that when bengalis speak anything with "ba" he

may presume it to be "va" and told him that what he is asking for is

the south indian "vada". of course later we got idlis besides "bada

or vada" and relished the same.

with best wishes

arjun

So this and another subsequent message makes me wonder if YOUUU

shouldd stop kalling it hinglish and jast koll it INGLISH because

obviously India has enough variations to create a sublanguage and

then further sub-sub dialects of english!
