You will observe that the events will be matched on the same date when there is a change in your dasha. Guest guest Posted March 31, 2006 Report Share Posted March 31, 2006 Dear Sir, Different jyotishis use the following different parameters which tend to change to the periods of vimshottari dasa for instance, arguably the most used dasha in jyotish particularly if one samples what has been used in the last fifty years, for instance. The variables include: Ayanamsha, of course, most have only toyed with values a degree here a degree there, until you came along with your brave and significant departure. Dasha Year: Classics just mention year, month etc but did not specify which year should be used. They have in other contexts described the solar year (the averaged form for which we see as the annual gregorian calendar -- 365.25 (nom.) days per year Also used is the civil or savanmana: The years are 360 days long. This brings in a sliding misalignment with the solar calendar year at a rate of one month, every six years of life. Parallax corrected moon: Depending on whether it is rising/setting or at zenith/nadir, the topocentric moon is different from the longitude we generally get from most software which assumes that the observer is at the center of the earth and not at the surface. Since jyotish is based on drig positions, parallax can bring a significant shift (more than a degree) in the longitude of moon for which parallax is the greatest. There are other minor corrections etc, but these three are the most significant and one cannot be corrected without taking into account the other two, namely year duration and parallax correction, if one is using a new experimental value of ayanamsha.
