Read thew anguish of unfortunate mother DEATH OF A GIRL CHILD (haiku) Tearful mother crushed small mouth Firmly to her milk oozing breast and The girl child was dead Tatvam-Asi auromirra19 <nalini2818 wrote: Sri Krishnan ji, Science always is a double edged sword , it all is in the hands that employ it. How many voices like that of Sri Tatvamsiji can be heard amidst the cacophony, din caused by the senseless minds? When a mother herself forces her daughter to commit female infanticide, what can be said of the much maligned mother-in-law. A mother is always a mother at heart, whether rural or metro and if the selflessness of the love is tainted what can be said of the misfortune of the society. When most of the offspring of the present times leave for and live abroad, the parents live in the country of the birth. What does having a son do to alleviate the loneliness than having a daughter. Hence it is the primary duty of the parents to care for the children till they are self sufficient,( as you rightly pointed out) and thereafter, it does not mean that they become dependent on the children for various reasons. It is better they are self reliant, less of expectations-less of frustrations. These are my humble thoughts, members of the list may excuse if I have offended anyone. Paaluttum kayye payivanginal, yedu vayi? Sorry for the Tamil,members, loosely translated" when the hands that give sustenance crush life to death, where does one go" for solace. What and where is the solution? How can awareness, consciousness be created in millions of minds? will matters turn upside down only when the ratio of the population tilts drastically? Do we have to wait for a correction like that of a stock market? Unfortunately, Sir, I have only questions. Guest guest Posted March 21, 2006 Report Share Posted March 21, 2006 Dear Friends, what ever we debate and discuss it only indicates how the people:"Society" that is we are under pressure.There is really no body to guide and properly help them.Living together/marriage/otherwise if man and and women are capable for propagation,there should be some body to take care of them.Be it male or female child.If none,mother becomes helpless and can only act as her mind dictates for that moment. The tenderness perceived in a female/Girl Child has not to become a burden.It is we again as part of society misguide them.Science helps in promoting materialistic views and every thing becomes "for bargain" In these conditions,we as bearers to take forward values sometimes have to take a tough stand and ventilate views that are not palatable. Parentage becomes an obligation irrespective of male and female offspring that can result. May be this clarity chatushpadas may not have.But we as dwipadas can think and do.This is where our role becomes important.
