Sade Sathi or Mercury Dasa - Which is bad

Hi,

 

My husband's DOB is March 13th 1965.

As I understand he is currently having Marcury Maha Dasha and

is in the last 2.5 years for saturn transit.

 

My husband's career has been stagnated for the last 6 years or so

with very little improvement. This has put a lot of mental strain on

him.

I am inclined to think that it is because of the saturn transit

(which started in 2000), since there is a coincidence. However, we

are also not very sure if it's because of the Mercury Dasa, since we

hear from my husband's parents that saturn is well placed in his

chart. We have very limited knowledge on astrlogy and are wondering

if someone can help us with his chart.

 

Specifically, we are interested in knowing which planet is blocking

his career progress and if there are any remedial measures for the

same. Also when can he see things moving in the right direction?

Otherwise financially we are pretty happy and don't have any major

concerns.

I must be looking at the wrong chart because for that date, what you

write, dashawise is not matching.

 

According to what I am seeing, the period that started in October

1999 represents the sixth house and hidden enemies (friends who are

really enemy at heart) and workplace politics have somewhat wrongly

maligned and weakened his position at work. Association of period

lord with debilitated mercury in 10th house does not help matters

either. If he has become more spiritual/religious/surrendering in

spirit since that period or a few years afterwards, then that

explains the exchange of sorts that uccha sun has with its

dispositor (this is not per classics, by the way!). If this is not

the case and he remains paranoid, beligerent, cynical and otherwise

negative, please do let me know for I am looking for feedback, not

having closed my books and exercise books yet (maybe just maybe --

next semester, I will graduate!).

 

During the period between August 2002 and September 2003 and again

between august 2004 and September 2005 was there some change in the

situation or mental outlook of your husband? Seemed like hope was on

horizon, even some sort of talk about his trying to go abroad or a

long travel or more training? And the periods were in a sense

generally more calming to his spirit in some ways? Mind you this

would not be the case throughout the period but certain moments or

days stand out? It is always about the intensity of experiences that

signal that planets are at work.

 

In the latter period, was there some intervention from his father,

or an earlier teacher? The advice was not gentle but firm and even

stern?

 

I am assuming that I am looking at the correct chart and you did not

inadvertantly shared the wrong data -- you are obviously under some

stress and duress judging by your postings -- and understandandably

so :-)

 

If that is so, I see a change as soon as August 2006. If all goes

well, there is a significant change, in the geographical location

and earnings -- a break for sure. Again after early July, the

chances of this increase as earlier done good karmas and deeds kick

in.

 

I see no need to get overzealous and interfere with the music of

the 'spheres' -- often they do not like that!

 

Volunteering selflessly his service towards a charity or

organization that serves to help women, particularly single mothers

would be advisable.

 

Fasting on wednesdays for the rest of his working life or even

longer would not hurt.

Dear Gowri,

 

Your husband is in ketu mahadasha, not mercury, with

ketu-jupiter going on till 21st may'06. The next antardashas of ket-sat and

ketu-mer will be a bit better than the previous ones. Ketu dasha began in

june'01.

 

He will have a small jump in career in next three months. The next dasha

of venus will be beneficial. A major jump will come in that period only which

begins on 26th june'08.

 

Ask him to wear a gomedh in silver on middle finger.

I am amazed at some of the things you mentioned. Yes, you are right

that workplace politics(friends who are really enemy at heart) did

affect his career to a large extent in 1999-2000 period. He has

become more spiritual in the last few years, but he has become more

paranoid and feels helpless about his career. We have been in US for

about 10 years now, but again you are right - he did get some

recognition at work during March 2005 and that kept his spirits up

for a little while. But he is still lagging behind his peers in

terms of career progress and that makes him highly depressed.

 

You mentioned that you see things changing for the better after

August 2006, with respect to his career. Does it still holds true

with his chart now (with the correct details I have furnished

above). Also do you see any chances of him moving to a different job

etc. He has recently started reading Vishu Sahasranamam on

Wednesday's. Is Mercury the reason behind his career stagnation?

I think you gave a different time too, earlier :-)

We can only wait and see if the reading comes true or not. If it

does, the time did not make a big difference, if not, maybe it did :-

) Just to put your fears to rest, I almost always do not go 'just'

with the birthdata given on internet requests because many of these

are inaccurate anyway :-)

 

These readings have to be done quickly so it is also not possible to

record everything that is going through the astrologer's mind -

particularly when the astrologer types like a tortoise :-( one of

the few skills I am determined to fix in my next birthtime --

although dragon systems speech recognition is really coming close to

perfection!
