Guest guest
Dear All, Let me share a few things about the present topic. Perhaps it looks like some of us have the idea that 100% vegetarianism is the GOOD MORALITY or moral purity! It need not be so! As Tanvir says, the PRESENT set of RULES or MORALS are set or practised by our ancestors since they found it good or RIGHT. There are many questions or WHYs which can not be answered simply. For example, the following are found to be the CORRECT or RIGHT practices: 1. To speak the truth(SATYA) 2. To give alms, donations(DAANA) 3. To help the needy(UPAKAARA) 4. To show sympathy, mercy(DAYAA) 5. To pardon the guilty(KSHAMAA) 6. To be hesitant to pain others(DAAKSHINYA) 7. To give up for the benefit of others(TYAAGA) ....and the list goes on and on...under the title MORALITY. It is sure that none of us can justify WHY it should be so? or WHY it is the RIGHT thing. But we feel the 'right' thing and sense it. Until that moment, no argument nor a theory can make us 'understand' the reality. So if your son or daughter asks you "WHY SHOULD A BROTHER NOT MARRY HIS SISTER?" do you have any answer??? Do not bring in the recent genetic theory but think HOW the ancestors reasoned it, irresepective of religions they belong to! Hope, at least some could cacth the message! yours humbly KAD
Guest guest
Dear KAD ji nice reading your uninimitable style of conveying things. of late questioning, criticising and branding superstitious on all astrological and divine subjects has become a vogue. the critics first use science as a shield to attack these sciences saying these subjects have no scientific base and untenable. if some scientists come up with sound reasoning, the critics turn to saying "illogical". your query is a direct awakener to such critics. when a brother knows that his sister is highly beautiful and educated, why shall he be foolish in seeing her married to another man rather than himself. logically he is correct. without asking a question, we have been blindly told and believed that it is the animal behaviour and humans have relations and respect their relations. while researching this query put up by a friend few decades ago, i understood detailed preaching of such things in the bible in the old testament. but all christians say that the old testament is something meant for the then civilisation and not the modern world. so KAD ji, my concern is that your query on incest has some support in some texts (Bible) and there may be some followers of that logical rule even though it is unimaginable in our indian context. with best wishes arjun , "kadrudra" <kadrudra wrote: > > Dear All, > > Let me share a few things about the present topic. > > Perhaps it looks like some of us have the idea that 100% vegetarianism > is the GOOD MORALITY or moral purity!
