Problems with touching the Sani idol in the navagraha

Recently just as a matter of habit my wife touched the Sani Bhagwan Idol in the

Navagraha Cluster and later on someone told her that it was very inauspicious ,,

since then she has been having severe health problems, I do not know if they are

connected

 

Can someone please confirm if this is really serious, and a real

not_supposed_to_be_Done thing. If so what are the remedies?

Dear Mr karthik,

Touching Navgraha idols where some kind of nitya pooja and aradhan is taking

place may not cause any problems.

But these navagrahas if not attended by the temple priests and are neglected

may lead to some undesirable and starnge feelings.

Now that you have some thing has been notice please do sanistotram on

saturdays evening and light a lamp of til oil on mornings.Try to take bath

before and after worship to lord saneeswarar.

This Navgraha is not a neglegted one, it is frequently attended by the temple

priests and a very busy temple where many devotees visit daily

 

At that particular time, no pooja or aradhan was in progress.

We are staying far away from the temple, in US. Since generally we do not

have teh Sani Idol at home, what is the best course? lighting a lamp on

mornings is it only Saturday mornings or every morning?

saneeswarar being a navagraha needs some kind of sanctity to be observed where

It is also not suggested to keep navagraha idols at home and do worship.

saneeswarar on saturday can be worshipped through prayers by having photo of

Lord Siva,Anjaneya and

and lord Bala ji.

On saturdays pl light a lamp and recite sanistotram and siva stotram

regularly with faith.No further harm or problem will recur

period? Is it only star related or it varies from person to person according to

well said on clarifying that touching an idol would not harm the

native. the customs in south and north are quite different. in

south, the sanctum sanctorum of any temple is out of bounds not only

for women but also for men. in the north, crores of worshippers not

only touch the idols of various dieties ans shivlings but also do

abhishek and various types of alankaar themselves. this is a

tradition followed with reverence and none of them are getting

negative affects or curses from the god for sacrilege.

 

there are also several myths doing rounds about the benevolent

planet saturn that one shall not buy saturn objects on a saturday

whereas in reality one shall not accept saturn objects freely on

that day which tantamounts to receiving shani daan.

 

in several navagraha temples in delhi, most worshippers who perform

pooja on saturdays are found throwing the prasadam (coconut, flowers

etc.) received after worship as they believe shani prasadam shall

not be consumed and if they take that prasadam home, shani's

negative affect comes to their homes. some people were even throwing

it in the dustbin or on the roadside which is sacrilege.

 

the height of myth was when i heard an elderly person telling his

son not to touch the long line of worshippers of saturn because they

are all containing shani dosha and by touching them, their dosha

would come to him.

 

so friends, instead of painting black on lord saturn, let us all

treat him with devotion and reverence, and lord shaneeswar would

turn out to be the most benevolent planet.

 

those who wish to have lifelong relief from lord saturn shall visit

his temple at Tirunallar (karaikal) in Pondicherry and worship him

after having a holy dip at the nala tirtha.
