finding a right priest

Dear respected members,

Life is like a ride on a roller coaster, one day, we

are on the top of the wheel, and the other day, we

could be at the bottom of the wheel, and a lot of us

would have experienced this, as it is the reality of

life.

Since we cannot escape the rough ride at times, it is

but natural to take respite from pujas, homas,

japas and other and remedies. It seems relatively

easy to find out what remedies to be done these days,

than perform remedies like japas and homas.

Now the difficult dilemma is, incase of Doctors and

engineers / lawyers their degrees and qualifications

are well displayed, so it is rather easy to choose

the right person for the services. But unfortunately,

priests don't display such degrees, and may get

offended if someone asks them. We do not have enough

depth of knowledge to assess them, neither we have the

depth of knowledge to perform proper rituals ourselves

(incase of difficult japas or homas), so we have to

trust the priest to perform them for us. Here comes

the difficult part in this Kaliyug , it is difficult

to find a person who does an authentic japa for us,

because of commercialization. Yet either because of

our lack of knowledge, or time, we end up relying on

them for japas and homams. I have seen once priests

performing japa ,and in between they were chit

chatting or having tea breaks, to me it looked pretty

unholy, as I felt when we are invoking shiva or for

that matter any god or any planet, our mind has to be

single minded in concentrating on god/ godess or

planet. Eventhough the priests say, "since you have

entrusted the job to us, if we do the japa wrong, we

get the dosham for it" - I don't know if that is the

right logic to follow either, as the primary purpose

of japa is to plead for the grace of the god or

planet for us, but not to take some one along with you

to hell. When some one is pleading with god/planet, if

their dristi is some where, how much attention is he

going to get from GOD? With all the respect to all

the learned and respectful community of priests, this

is my humble concern, how do people find the best

priest? Where do you find them? And dear

members, those who got the respite from remedies, how

did you manage to perform the right remedies in a

right way? Will you be all kind enough to share your

successful way of performing japas /homas/ yantras and

other remedies, for the benefit of every reader in

these groups. A lot of people may get the advise of

right remedy, but a remedy not done properly may not

give them the results they are looking for.

Thank you all

Dear Sri Tanuku;

The issues raised by you are as under:

it is difficult to find a person who does an authentic japa for us,

because of commercialization. Yet either because of our lack of knowledge, or

time, we end up relying on them for japas and homams

Finding a right priest for our regular and special needs is difficult.Infact

it is the case with any profession. There are qualified and non

qualified,experienced and in experienced priest.

In all such cases probably it is also matter of faith.Best thing is to rely on

established temples where on some occassions and even regularly carry out these

poojas,So what is important is chitta suddhi and belief in the person performing

such poojas.

I have seen once priests performing japa ,and in between they were

chitchatting or having tea breaks, to me it looked pretty unholy, as I felt

when we are invoking shiva or forthat matter any god or any planet, our mind has

to be single minded in concentrating on god/ godess or planet.

The selction of priest is normally made on the basis of reputation too.A

priest who is busy definetely is one performs with single mind and may be he

also charges with good amount.Normally affording capacity too matters.

Infact for Astrological purposes the remedies are not really difficult but

then have some niyams(paddhatii)which are to be followed and observed. Also

require different types of suddhi such as chitta suddhi, deha suddhi and

vatavarana siddhi.once all these are taken care, the fruits of the prayers

normally accrues.stronger the desire to seek relief and intensity of request

better will be results.
