samudrika sastra (All predictive crafts/techniques are not astrology)

Sure --- prediction can be made using many different ways, including

tea leaves (I am serious and not being sarcastic or trying to put tea

leaves down), yarrow sticks, nimittas, and many other symbols. I once

had a friend who used to be very good at reading omens and symbols

and made significant sums of money in his younger days through

finding the numbers for the local lottery/satta. Psychics can often

give very uncanny information.

But the point is we should not loosely label these as ASTROLOGY even

when otherwise reputed and capable astrologers/jyotishis use these in

their routine practice. If we keep calling all these astrology, it

muddies the picture and reduces clarity.

Dear friends.

Astrology with so much of acclaim and ardent followere is till considered to be

superstitious by many aetheists.Valid theory of Astrology when scrupulosly

applied to human affairs sometimes go haywire. So minute links are difficult some

times to be identified and taken care for correctness of predictions. It is

almost essential for Astrologers to rely on mantra sakti based on vedic cultures

and keep away kshudra devatas and their tantric potentialities.we need to think

of resorting in dire necessity.Any case they(forces) do not long last and will

evaporate like camphor. The reasons for such we mayhave to know from other allied

sciences as per ou interest and likings.may be it all depends on how do we

really sustain with the power forecast.we need to apply some discipline and some

methods to have that ability to speak and visualise something of planets. Some

very wise foretellers have already switched over from individual predictions to

global matters(mundane) and some to philosophy and

others to community.

Even my own Gurus tell me often it is really difficult to retaing power of

forecast and be able to be correct and accurate always

Like I said to another poster just now, I have no problem if anyone

wants to talk or use these techniques or chicken feet or rhinnoceres

hair or whatever else tickles their fancy, but please don't call

those astrology. That's all :-)

I don't think astrology is superstition and those who seek my help

don't either. Do I really care what remaining others think ;-)
