Guest guest
Arjun ji, Your classification of astrologers is illuminating. Regarding the sage type - I have heard of one such person, a sadhu. He met a friend of my dad's, just looked at his face and said, "This man will marry outside his religion." And it happened many years later! How do they do it? He didn't look at charts or anything. I think that this most blessed soul had gained tremendous intuition by leading a very religious life. ~~~~~~~ Balaji Narasimhan * http://www.sherlock-holmes.com/balaji.htm Author, Sherlock Holmes: Solutions from the Sussex Downs Editor, The Partial Art of Detection ~~~~~~~ Mail - PC Magazine Editors' Choice 2005
Guest guest
Dear Balaji, One part of jyotish is samudra shastra, which involves studying the body parts of the native to predict. Palms, face, lengths of limbs, the hair type, complexion, etc are all studied and then the predictions are made. The saints and sadhus are adept in samudra-shastra. It is quite possible and read people by studying their physical aspects. You can also try it. It will take some time but your intuition will guide you. Guest guest
samudrIKa shastra is valid and about seership and very valid component of the complete story, but I think astrology should not be mixed with that even though Parashara and others talk about it in their primarily jyotish text. In order to be really effective as a seer and divinator, I have not problem with people utilizing all portals, even channeling, but when we talk about astrology and jyotish in modern connotation, it is best to not stray from astrological domain. This is just a suggestion just for (and from) clarity and not something one needs to abide by!
