Guest guest
Respected Ashutoshji, You said in one of your mails that "Jupiter is karak of religious pursuits (not spiritual)." Doesn't Jupiter also reflect Guru? And doesn't one's Guru lead to spiritual progress as well? Please clarify for better understanding. Guest guest
Dear friends, Though I can understand that in an Occidental view, 'Religion' and 'Spiritualism' are different, It is not so in Oriental view and at least wrt Vedic traditions, Religion and Spiritualism are the two faces of the same Vedic coin. It is same as differentiating between Veda and Vedanta! But astrology is a Vedanga, which connects DHARMA(Religious) and ADHYAATMA(=spirituality) through KARMA while it finds usage mostly in materialistic(LOUKIKA) world! This is well known to all. So same Jupiter, who indicates 'Religious deeds' does surely indicate 'spiritual acts'. Or simply, Jupiter represents the above said Vedic coin with Adhyatma and Dharma faces. Which face turns up in actual acts of an individual is ruled by his KARMA, and in each case, Jupiter matters! As I have always seen, believed and experienced, there is no BACK- FIRE of any daana/pooja/pilgrimage. If at all it exists, it is co-incidental and psychological and NO VEDIC SCRIPT backs this idea of back-firing experienced- except in Tantras- not at all in temple visits or worships or charity. I really wonder how this BACK-FIRE concept creeped into minds of astrologers who do not suggest Tantrik remedies! yours humbly, KAD , Divya <touchbase_divya> wrote: > Respected Ashutoshji, > > You said in one of your mails that "Jupiter is karak of religious pursuits (not spiritual)." > > Doesn't Jupiter also reflect Guru? Guest guest
Dear Divya, Among the nine planets there are two gurus, Jupiter(guru of Devas) and venus(guru of demons). Venus is, in many cases, more powerful and a better teacher than Jupiter. But, when applying to individual horoscopes, jupiter or venus cannot be taken as guru. Take the lords of fifth and tenth houses to judge the nature of the teacher. For different purposes different planets will be seen. For a guru of a thief, rahu should be studied, for religious and teaching purposes- jupiter, for martial purposes -jupiter and mars, for governance- sun and jupiter, for spiritual - ketu and saturn, etc. Jupiter follows tradition and commands respect. But, it lacks affection and understanding of points of view of students. The best and first teacher is the mother. She teaches with affection and her teachings form the basis of all further learnings. Mother is represented by venus and moon, one for affection and love, other for understanding. Understanding, because a mother can understand the incoherent cooings of an infant and respond to them in a proper manner. Guest guest
Ashutoshji, Thanks for your reply. I have one small doubt. As you said that to see Guru in an individual's horoscope, we should see lord of 5th and 10th houses. If the lord of 5th is Venus and the lord of 10th is Jupiter (like in this case of Balaji's), then does not Jupiter also have something to do with spirituality as well? And if yes, then when Jupiter is in a bad state or poorly placed, how can spiritual activities help and religious activities dont? Shouldn't it be the same for both activities? Guest guest
Hi all I was thinking that we mostly give utmost importance to 1. sun 2. jupiter 3. saturn 4. mars I have seen a chart with 1. debilitated sun in rasi chart in 12th house 2. debilitated mars in rasi chart in 9th house 3. retrograde jupiter in rasi chart in 8th house 4. debilitated jupiter in navmasa chart 5. exalted mercury in navmasa chart 6. strong venus in rasi chart - scorpio asc in D1 - pisces asc in D9 In rasi chart - 9th lord is moon and 5th lord is jupiter. In navmasa chart,9th lord is mars and 5th lord is sun. I can not deduce much regarding dharma of marriage (guru of marriage) from this info. My questions are :- 1> What do u mean by guru for martial purpose ? DOes it mean the thinking is governed by which planet for marital purpose. 2> How to use this information and which chart to consider ? If we consider Rasi chart in above example then lords are jupiter+mars+moon Now mars is debilitated AND jupiter is retrograde AND moon is present in 12th house SO WHAT does this lead us to ? I am more interested in understandign from the point of view of improving some one's life ? Chart is like : rasi chart asc:scorpio 1:8:Mer 2:9:sagi 3:10:capri 4:11:aqua 5:12:ketu *r*:pisces 6:1:aries 7:2:tauras 8:3: jup *r*:gemini 9:4: mars:cancer 10:5:sat:leo 11:6:rahu *r*:virgo 12:7:moon+sun+ven:libra -sun and mars is deb -ven is strong Navmasa chart:- 1:12:pisces:lagna 2:1:aries 3:2:tau:Sun+Saturn 4:3:gem:rahu 5:4:can: 6:5:leo: 7:6:virgo:Mer [Mer is exalted] 8:7:libra:Mars 9:8:sco:Ven 10:9:sagi:Moon+ketu 11:10:capri:Jup® [Jup is deb] AL: Pi A7: Pi UL: Cancer Bhava Lagna 04 19'34" Sa Hora Lagna 14 33'23" Cp Ghatika Lagna 15 14'48" Ta many thanks angel --- Astrologer Ashutosh <astrologerashutosh wrote: > Dear Divya, > > Among the nine planets there are two > gurus, Jupiter(guru of Devas) and venus(guru of > demons). Guest guest
I was anticipating this mistake from some members. I have written martial not marital. Martial means- related to warfare. - angel Thursday, August 18, 2005 19:49 Re: About Jupiter Hi all I was thinking that we mostly give utmost importance to 1. sun 2. jupiter 3. saturn 4. mars I have seen a chart with 1. debilitated sun in rasi chart in 12th house 2. debilitated mars in rasi chart in 9th house 3. retrograde jupiter in rasi chart in 8th house 4. debilitated jupiter in navmasa chart 5. exalted mercury in navmasa chart 6. strong venus in rasi chart - scorpio asc in D1 - pisces asc in D9 In rasi chart - 9th lord is moon and 5th lord is jupiter.
