Guest guest
Dear friend, As far as rituals are concerned, it is better to consult your family priest, since they differ from family to family, based on vedas, philosophies and grihya sutras they follow. If the adoption is within same Gotra, it may be simple but may be complex wrt other Gotras. Again in SrivaishNavas, MUDRAA DHAARANA or markings with Shankha-Chakra on shoulders also comes into play sometimes. But astrologically, the following may be of use in analysis: Adoption - is an important socio-legal act which has been in vogue since a long time, changing its course wrt country-time and practice. Astrologically, though there are classical ways of analysing ADOPTION or 'DATTAKA SWEEKAARA' in Sanskrit, due attention must be paid to the socio-legal matters concerning the adoption. Here is an attempt to share a few things about Dattaka/Adoption : DATTAKA : It is a socio-legal act of adopting a child as the HEIR to the family or throne, by which the child is entitled to enjoy the rights of a natural child born to the guardian parents and is required to perform the duties of the same, both religiously and socio-legally. The child so adopted is called DATTAKA PUTRA/PUTRI. He/she succeeds the family, the race, religious practices and gets the property or throne as legal heir. Astrologically, the planet representing the HEIR APPARENT is MERCURY or Budha, the planet-prince. In PrashnaTantra: sharadIsho harirdIrgho ShaNDho mUlam kumArakaH | lipij~na uttareshashcha shUdro saumyah tridhAtukah || 1.'KUMAARAKA' in the above verse proves Mercury to be the karaka for 'legal heir' or DATTAKA APATYA. 2.The Rashi concerned are, naturally Mithuna and Kanya, which are just next to THRONES of Sun and Moon. (Well, that is the logic used besides the planetary orbit/distance to allocate rulerships in zodiac) 3.Each house or bhaava plays a vital role in analysing DATTAKA yoga: (a) In judging a PARENT chart 1.Lagna - Will to adopt, mentality towards adopted child 2.KuTumba - Addition to family 3.Vikrama - Capacity to protect the dattaka wrt odds, especially from siblings 4.Bandhu - Recognition of dattaka among relatives 5.Apatya - Whether dattaka is the only HEIR or one among successors. 6.Shatru - Enemies, cousins(daayada) and disciples/servants eyeing the wealth 7.Jaaya - The spouse(s) and their behaviour towards dattaka 8.Ayusha - Whether dattaka can be maaraka 9.Dharma - Whether dattaka continues the lineage with proper rites/rituals/duties 10.Karma - whether dattaka can hold up the values and names of parents/family/lineage 11.Laabha - whether dattaka brings any fortunate happenings with him/her 12.Vyaya - whether dattaka brings misfortune to the native (b) In judging chart of dattaka 1.Lagna - The separation from original parents(upto 12 years), capacity to be a DATTAKA, DWIGOTRA yoga 2.KuTumba - Separation from family, homeland 3.Vikrama - whether dattaka can protect interests of new parents 4.Maataa - Dwimatr yoga, number of mothers and care takers 5.Mantra - education lineage, vedic lineage, type of study and diversion 6.Ari - the daayada/ cousins in compition 7.Madana - whether dattaka finds difficulty wrt marriage 8.KanTaka - whether dattaka encounters death as a heir 9.Dharma - whether dattaka keeps his promises to family and maintains lineage 10.Keerti - whether dattaka can get the family fame and name or maintain it dutifully 11.Laabha - whether dattaka is profited after adoption 12.Vyaya - whether dattaka loses his freedom and happiness after adoption 4. Predominance of strong Mercury in dattaka charts, as well as in trikona of parent's chart can indicate dattaka yogas. Even 6th lord, in connection with 9th, 5th, 4th, 2nd can generate dattaka possibilities. This is not all; but a simple note about analysis of adoption in astrology. Let me search for a good example chart in my collection, of which one chart is really worth studying - the chart of a person who adopted a child long after marriage, and got his OWN child the next year! humbly yours KAD , ramanuja charyulu <ramanujam_ps2003> wrote: > Respected members and astrologers, namasthe. > Even though Iam a silent member of this group, I follow every mail of this forum to enrich my knowledge. In my such quest I request the members to enlighten me about the basic rituals and precautions to be followed while making a male child adoption, their importance, and thier results that may be brought by such ritual. > With regards > ramanuja charyulu > > > > Messenger NEW - crystal clear PC to PC calling worldwide with voicemail > >
