Ashutosh ji,

<<<In 1973, jupiter was in capricorn and many of my clients have

it in sixth house. Those with jupiter alone, with no aspect from

any beneficial planet, have had excellent financial and career

gains in jupiter dasha, though with lots of health problems.

But, where jupiter is with some other planet, the dasha has been

mediocre or devastating.>>>

I was also born in 1973 and I have Guru Neecha in the 8th, but

getting Neecha Bhanga because Kuja is in a Kendra from Lagna.

In my case, Guru is aspected by Swakshetra Chandra. I am running

Budha Dasa - Guru Bukti now - just started it in Aug 2005. Does

the aspect of Chandra on Guru mean that the Guru Bukti will be

bad? Please clarify.

I was born on 14 March 1973 at 2:14 PM in Bombay.

Many thanks in advance!

Dear Balaji,

Jupiter is not in a VRY position, therefore the aspect of moon

on it will not give negative results. Here moon is contributing to reduce the

debiliation of tenth-seventh lord.

The dahsa of mer-jup will have mixed results for you. You will gain a

lot financially but loose on health and family front. As jupiter is lord of

tenth and seventh. Both these houses will be affected. Moon is in its own sign,

but we should also take into consideration the transit of saturn over it for

most part of mer-jup dasha.

Some things to look out for-

- Litigations from unexpected quarters.

- Desire to take up more than one professions or jobs at a time and

dissatisfaction from all of them. But, monetary gains and success in new

ventures.

- Precautions to be taken on family front, especially when mars transits lagna

and second house next year.

- Avoid hard drinks during this dasha.

- Avoid throwing big parties.

- Strange but a good remedy: avoid any religious pilgrimages and contributions

to religious causes.

I have seen some other horoscopes of people born in 1973 and having

gemini lagna, ketu in lagna and jupiter in eighth. Most of them are scholars,

good with languages and very interested in literature.

One of my very dear friends, a good astrologer himself, who initiated me

in the field of Jyotish, also has similar configurations. He is a professor of

English literature in Ahmedabad, and is expert in french besides hindi, english

and gujarati. Another one is a teacher of Hungarian language. The list goes on.

His data:

14-10-1973

23.45

Dhrangadhra

Gujarat

Ashutosh ji,

Many thanks for the chart reading.

Most of the things you have mentioned make sense, so I will not

seek any clarification. However, one thing I don't understand:

> Strange but a good remedy: avoid any religious pilgrimages and

> contributions to religious causes.

I don't understand this. On Saturday-Sunday I went on a

pilgrimage in the Pondicherry - Cuddalore belt. While this

exhausted me, I found great mental peace from this!

<<<I have seen some other horoscopes of people born in

Well, this gentleman really knows a lot of languages!

Unfortunately, while I can speak English, Tamil, Hindi and

Kannada fluently, I am literate only in English.

Once again, many thanks!

Dear Balaji,

Jupiter is karak of religious pursuits (not spiritual). When in

a bad state, poorly placed, and in a harmful position, religous activities can

increase its maleficience. For a mercury dominated horoscope, jupiter is a

functional malefic.

Most of the astrologers will disagree with me, but this is what I have

observed.

Spiritual activities like meditations, yoga, etc will be very helpful to

you in the jupiter antardasha. Saturn-ketu combination can take you to great

heights in spiritualism.

<<<Jupiter is karak of religious pursuits (not spiritual). When

Maybe you have a point. On Saturday, I went to Pondicherry, and

the outside food didn't agree with me and gave me a bad stomach

ache! Guru Bukti has activated the 7th and the 10th houses and

since the 7th is his Moolatrikona, its results will be felt

more. Since Kuja, lord of 6th [diseases] is here, perhaps it was

to blame!

Of course, usually, the only religious trip I undertake is a

monthly trip to Maddur, which is 80 km from Bangalore.

<<<Most of the astrologers will disagree with me, but this is

what I have observed.>>>

Well, I will agree with you. Many people believe that Guru is a

great benefic and Sani, Rahu, etc are great malefics, but this

depends on lordship. In fact, my interest in religion/jyotish

came predominently in Rahu Bukti!

<<<Spiritual activities like meditations, yoga, etc will be very

helpful to you in the jupiter antardasha.>>>

Excellent! I will try to practice more of this!

<<<Saturn-ketu combination can take you to great heights in

spiritualism.>>>

Once again, this is good news! One small query though - what

does "combination" mean in this context? I'm asking this because

Sani and Ketu are in Dwir-Dwadasa positions.

Once again, Ashutosh ji, many thanks for the prompt replies!

Dear friends,

Though I can understand that in an Occidental view, 'Religion'

and 'Spiritualism' are different,

It is not so in Oriental view and at least wrt Vedic traditions,

Religion and Spiritualism are

the two faces of the same Vedic coin. It is same as differentiating

between Veda and Vedanta!

But astrology is a Vedanga, which connects DHARMA(Religious) and

ADHYAATMA(=spirituality) through

KARMA while it finds usage mostly in materialistic(LOUKIKA) world!

This is well known to all.

So same Jupiter, who indicates 'Religious deeds' does surely

indicate 'spiritual acts'.

Or simply, Jupiter represents the above said Vedic coin with Adhyatma

and Dharma faces.

Which face turns up in actual acts of an individual is ruled by his

KARMA, and in each case, Jupiter matters!

As I have always seen, believed and experienced, there is no BACK-

FIRE of any daana/pooja/pilgrimage.

If at all it exists, it is co-incidental and psychological and NO

VEDIC SCRIPT backs this idea

of back-firing experienced- except in Tantras- not at all in temple

visits or worships or charity.

I really wonder how this BACK-FIRE concept creeped into minds of

astrologers who do not suggest Tantrik remedies!

yours humbly,

KAD

Dear Sri Balaji,

Jupiter as a natural benefic gives tremendous support.Spirituality

as explained is totally different, one is a direct approach, the other

is thro rituals and practices.

Jupiter is a karaka for 5 houses out of 12, hence some good

somewhere is happening in some aspect of life,so it is the

perspective that is important and thatis what ultimately matters.

Iam sure you would be having similar experiences.

Jupiter for some persons acts like a " killer" planet,so anything is

possible.Saturn and Ketu can also lead you to spirutuality, the

route is different.

Best Wishes.

Dear Balaji,

saturn is lord of ninth and in house of moksha. Ketu, again

karak of moksha, is in lagna. Both of them give you great spiritual powers and

heightened intuition.
