Dear friend,

Mangalik Dosha means the defects of Mars.

Not only Mars other planets suffering from defects also may ruin

one's married life.

What are these Doshas ?

Doshas or defects arise in planets owing to incompatibility between

their instinctual functionality vis-a-vis thier functional

responsibility imposed on them on account of their being lords/

occupant of some houses.

For example Saturn the natural significator of Karma in 5th or 9th

houses irrespective its functional nature depending upon the lagna-

makes the person somewhat averse to manual labour/ psychological

unpreparedness for manual jobs. So this is a Dosha.

However the Dosha of Mars are considered to be serious because- Mars

is a hot and rash planets- leads to action without any forethought or

planning- may be sometimes just guided by the impulsiveness of the

moment.

A strong Mars - all its stellar, navamsa and rasi dispositors if

posited in houses 7,4,11 or lagna or own these houses- Mars dosha is

minimised to great extent- This is for all lagna.

Note:- Please be careful to differentiate/ integrate the relationship

between the houses/ signs.

Note:- as per Jataka Desha Marga- planets gives twice(200%) the

priority/ importance (as per BPHS it is 150% )to the functionality of

their Mooltrikona houses. Therefore, if the functionality of the

Mooltrikona houses are incompatible with the functionality of the

other houses/ occupations/ aspects etc.- you have to carefully

compare and judge the positive and negative influences with reference

to subject matter under consideration(in this case Mangalik Dosha).

Dr. B.V. Raman in his book How to Judge Horoscope- Vol-II has given

some good examples about how to numerically compare the Doshas of

Mars.

Astrologers can also develop their own numerical yardsticks based on

their experience to measure the vasious doshas of other planets with

refernce to matters pertaining to other houses(like children,

profession, spiritual progress etc.) also.

Once successful in doing this, astrology will be a pleasurable

journey for the astrologers with much of their obstacles removed.

God and time permitting I will come up with a few examples in the

future for the benefit of the beginners.

With regards to all,

M.Tripathy,

Delhi.
