Guest guest
Dear friend In reality, one would get rid of bad dreams if he chants this mantra. The abridged version of this mantra is available in casettes, books and is even exploited to ward off death by some commercial people. The real mahamrityunjaya mantra is a much bigger one than any book refers and by reciting that the guru of rakshasas "Shukracharya" gave life to several dead rakshasas. It would be a sin even to suspect or attribute any negative affect to such a great powerful mantra. You must be feeling unnecessary fear of death which is why to prevent that you are chanting this mantra even at odd hours or whenever you feel like which is why you might be getting such bad dreams. This mantra, or any mantra for that matter, should be recited in the morning after having bath and after worshipping the lord in your pooja place at home and by sitting in a meditation posture for few minutes. These days extra hype and significance is given to mrityunjaya mantra so much so that even people driving cars have started playing this casette as a rule so that they would be saved from any accident and death. No mantra would give negative result at all. Instead of chanting the 1000 names of vishnu if one chants "ram" it is as good as chanting all the 1000 names. Similarly if you are not feeling comfortable with the mahamrityunjaya mantra you can recite the simpler siva mantra "Om Namah Shivay".
