Also how does one predict that the person will marry within the community, outside the community or outside the religion? On many occasions, "Marrgiage YOG" is predicted but marriage does not happen on those "YOGs". What are the possible reasons for the same? How is the YOG predicted? However, if there is influence of a malefic planet on 7th house (mostly saturn), the marriage will be done out of caste. Simple Rule: For love marriage, the lords of 5th and 7th should be somehow related. If malefic houses aspect, owns 7th house, 7th lord, generally, the marriage is out of caste. However, you need to view the whole chart and the upapada lagna and lord as well. I know a case of person with 7th house being aspected by Sat (7th aspect) and Jupiter(9th aspect).Person is cancer lagna where sat is neutral. The reason for asking this was for the following reasons 1) I have Ravi and Shukra in the 5th house. My ascendant starts with 1 and hence I have number 5 in the 5th house. 2) There is Harshal in the 7th house and number 7 due to reasons explained earlier. According to what you have said, the 7th house lord is in the 5th house. Is this an indication of love marriage? Also is Harsal a malefic planet? Would it indicate that I will marry a person out of caste? Also as you were saying that the 7th house and 5th house lord would be inter-related. Does it hold true for any raashi? What is uppada lagna and how do you find/ read it. Thanks once again for answering my query. I have not studied about Harshal, so I cannot comment on that. The number "1" in first house indicates that your ascendant (lagna) is Aries. Sun as the lord of 5th house conjoined with the natural karaka and the lord of 7th house venus in the 5th house (house for romance and love etc) indicates that might have a love marriage unless there are no malefic interventions. Upapada lagna is the arudha pada of the 12th house. You may use the software "Jagannatha hora" (free software) to calculate. In short, I would like to tell you that we count from the 12 house to the lord of the 12th house and we get a count say "N". Then we count "N" from this house.
