Saturn: Friend or Foe?

The up-coming Saturn movement into the Sign of Cancer, on May 26th, will

test this view, as to whether Saturn is a 'friend or foe'!

For many people, especially for those who already have Saturn acting

malefically, this transit may be a very challenging time.

So, what can we do to make this as painless as possible and how can we even,

make this period one of a Benefic Saturn, or Saturn friend!

When we look at the Saturn experiences we all go through, whether of Dasa

periods or Transits, each one of us has our own unique experiences as to

whether that Saturn experience is positive or negative.

Often times, when you talk to those who already have very good, or Benefic

Saturns in their charts, for them, their Saturn 'periods' are indeed,

positive and expressive of their Benefic Saturn status.

For the rest of us, our Saturn moments, unfortunately, are much less rosy.

However, Saturn is known as the Great Lesson giver, and what is the purpose

of a lesson, but to learn that lesson!

If there are examples where some people have the Benefic Saturn experiences,

then we know that Saturn can be positive. So, what can we do to make our

own Saturn experiences less negative or even positive?

Each Month, the Moon goes through a kind of mini-Sade Sat experience. Every

month, the Moon moves through the Signs all around wherever Saturn is also

presently transiting, and in these 6-7 days, we're all given a brief Sade

Sat experience.

Watching this transit, in any Month, can show you how in-tune you are with

your Saturn!

When I first started watching the Transits, many years ago, now, I noticed

not only was this a difficult period for me, but also for many others.

Previously I noticed that Waning and New Moon periods were very rough for

me, and so I wasn't too surprised that these brief, kind of 'sade sat'

periods, were rough too.

After a few years I learned how to improve my Moon and change that very

strongly negative or malefic Moon Waning periods into more positive ones,

so, I tried to figure out how might I better understand or even, transform,

those Saturn/Moon regular transits.

As I learned to improve my own Saturn, (Saturn in the 12th house), I began

to see that improvement, mirrored in my experiences of the Moon/Saturn

collisions, each month.

Now, I understand that one's experience of Saturn dasas or transits, depends

dramatically on how in-tune we are with our own Saturns.

Therefore if we want to make sure that future Saturn periods, like this

Saturn in Cancer one, are as positive as possible, we need to take steps to

make our own internal Saturns, balanced.

Now, I realize that every day, Nature or Life, or even Saturn are telling us

how in-tune, we are.

If I end up staying up too late or working hard and getting either tired or

stressed, I notice that those regular Moon's Waxings, New Moon, or

Saturn/Moon days are more rough and distressing.

Now, as far as this up-coming Saturn in Cancer transit, goes; let me just

say a few words about why this is thought generally, to be a rather

challenging experience.

First of all, Saturn and Moon, are not thought to be very friendly. This is

because, generally, people understand the nature of Saturn and the Moon to

be too opposite. Therefore, whenever Sade Sat happens, and Saturn is

transiting all around our Moons, it's generally associated with a very

trying times for the individual, their Mother, and most every aspect of

life!

So, generally this Saturn/Cancer period is thought to be a challenging time

for pretty much everyone, as Cancer, represents the 'Home' of the Moon, and

therefore this will be predominantly 'malefic' for many.

However, as our desire is to learn to bring out the positive in any and all

malefic areas in our charts; this one too can be transformed!

The key is to learn to listen to what is going on inside of you!

Because the Cancer part of us, represents the home of our Moons, and as such

is a very important energy, and part of our natures.

#1 Find the Cancer in your chart.

See if you can feel the nature of Cancer, there, in some area of your life!

(For me, I've learned to feel, that Cancer energy. Because I have a Libra

rising, I've learned that energy is the one that's pervading my house of

Career.)

Last Fall when Saturn first went into Cancer, I felt it's movement. For me,

it felt like a huge boulder that was inching it's way across my career

house.

My first impulse was to run all around the boulder, looking at it, and

laughing, and saying: "Wow, look at that!"

Then, I noticed it stop and inch it's way back into Gemini, and I noticed

that a certain amount of heaviness, or grief was diminishing as it went back

out of Cancer.)

This experience pointed the way for me, that this could be a very difficult

situation coming up.

But, I'd been given a great blessing too!

I now saw the danger on the horizon, and I could continue, as if, running

around that huge boulder, or, I could do something differently.

See, I've been watching Saturn, closely, for over 18 years!

I remember when it was first going through Sagittarius, way back in 1988.

Then I watched it go through it's Signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. Then I

watched it go though Pisces, and then, Aries, it's Sign of Debilitation.

In addition to watching it go through these various signs, I tried to see if

I could feel it's influences, going through the various 'Houses' of my

chart, too.

So, when I 'saw' it beginning it's movement through my 10th House, I was

alerted to this potential challenge.

But, because my path has led me to learn from and especially adjust whenever

Saturn's involved, I had a few months to prepare and figure out how I could

better experience this latest Saturn movement.

I also contemplated what the nature of Saturn in Cancer might mean.

And, whereas Saturn in most signs, already represents 'grief', or 'lessons'

of those Sign-natures, for example, Saturn in Gemini, has meant for many,

grief from doing too many things at once. (Which is the symbolism of

Gemini).

So, for these last 2 1/2 years I've been telling people who've been

experiencing this, Saturn grief of doing 'too many things at a once'. As a

result I've watched people begin to learn the true symbolism of that Saturn

transit!

So, don't be surprised if this present Saturn/Cancer transit, mean's

something about grief, or lessons regarding too much Cancer, giving,

compassion or nourishing, goings on.

Saturn often shows us where our imbalances are.

The particular flavor of this Saturn lesson is about Cancer, the mind,

heart, or home of the Moon.

Therefore the first thing I want to recommend, is that we don't get out of

balance, through giving too much, during this up-coming time.

We may find ourselves being sooooo busy, and especially because giving to

others often feels so good and natural, we might think, this is okay.

However, be warned that Saturn's presence is both the karma and the lesson

of that particular Consciousness/flavor of meaning or Cancer.

So, watch how you're feeling.

Watch how your Cancer gets affected.

Watch especially how your heart and feeling nature is, during this up-coming

Transit.

If Saturn represents the areas in which we need to grow, then watch the

Mind, or emotional nature, inside, to see if it's fine, or uneasy.

If you start to feel unsettled, if you notice that you begin to worry, or

doubt, or feel anxieties of any kind, these are all Signs, of Saturn moving

through the Sign of the Moon!

Saturn is trying to tell you where more balance is needed!

Saturn, is also indicative where we need to bring attention.

So, if you put attention on more balance, in exactly these areas of Cancer,

in your chart, then, you have the greatest chance of making this 2 year

transit more smooth, and in fact, profoundly Evolutionary!

Lessons of Moon.

Lessons of the Mind.

Lessons of Cancer.

These are all the symbolic meanings of Saturn moving through Cancer.

Therefore if you adjust and accept that during this time, this is when you!

will choose to participate more, with this natural movement of Nature; then,

this transit can be very rewarding and not malefic!

During positive or Benefic Saturn/Cancer periods, some people experience,

great stillness and silence and a quiet but powerful awakening as to the

depths of the Mind, heart, feelings and even Intuition!

This shows that Saturn can be positive, or 'a friend'!

For those who have good Saturns they already experience during their Saturn

dasas, or Transits, that those periods are extremely positive, if in a more

inward way.

So, here's hoping that all learn those lessons that are associated with this

up-coming Saturn/Cancer, period, and figure out how to enjoy the positive

sides of Saturn's nature, moving through the home of the Moon, heart, and

intuition.
