Guest guest
It is sad (really) that kids in India, barely coming out of teenage have to experience such stresses! Most 19 year olds in other countries are just coming out of high-school and entering university. The stress really begins a few years down the road. Of course, you are in good company. Many individuals whom you might be writing to on this board and elsewhere where you might have pasted the same query might have come from India and would have experienced your confusion and stress. Regardless of what some think, India is not an easy country to grow up in, to have one's formative years in. Karma, of course or at least I hope that is it! Guest guest
Dear Rohini, Thanks for raising a very valid point. I am sure all Indians staying abroad must be puzzled about the everyday degrading social situation in India affecting young girls and boys. More and more parents and sometimes the girls and boys themselves between age group of 15 to 21 are approaching astrologers and psychiatrists for one common problem - "they are confused". They are confused about career , relationships , value systems and face tremendous stress and identity crisis. In general this is age is of major psychological changes and one has to develop healthy coping mechanism for managing stresses, but I am talking about the particular situation in India which is making the problem worse. The whole society has double standards wherever they go. Corruption is accepted as something "natural". More and more matrimonial life problems and legal separations are happening. This situation has made the problem for these boys and girls worst. They do not know which is the right role models to pursue. They hear stories about degraded social, moral and ethical value systems from media impacting their formative mindset greatly. Newspapers are full of molestation , abuse and corruption cases . It looks like that manipulation , lying , having different manifestations than reality is order of the day. The problems is more profound in case of girls. Girls are finding that their pride and self respect may not be protected while they move around in society or even chat on internet or not sure who would call on their cell phone or send obscene sms. Ideally this a very right age to develop tender , caring and loving attitude towards all kinds of relationships, over all develop a right kind of attitude and mind set towards healthy society. But reality is far different. This cause great stress and everyone somehow manages to cope up with the stress by engaging in wrong relationships , sometimes drug abuse , being over ritualistic not commensurate to their age. This all has lead to great insecurity feeling and uncertainty in life. There are no structured counseling and guidance mechanisms as government cannot fund them and private experienced counselors are far too busy with confirmed psychiatric cases and many new clinical psychologists do not have necessary experience and lack the maturity and perspective to guide such kids. But we cannot just keep quiet. All the concerned like astrologers , psychologists , School and college principal , educationist , medical professionals and politicians should come together and develop structured means for guiding girls and boys of this age. I am not saying such efforts are not being done today. But they are too isolated and inadequate. But if this problem is not tackled now, we may have more morbid , criminal and unhealthy society in days to come. Guest guest
Dear Praneetha Well its really hard to predict about a young person who is developing his/her career and about whom we have very little data. I agree with Mr Anil and Mr RohiniRanjan regarding the complicated state of affairs of Indian Education and general environment system in India thesedays. Well there were always challenges for good students to concentrate on studies and not to get influenced by negative/complex environment around them in all times. So keep up your spirits and enthusiasm since the planets also indicate a roller- coaster ride which can take you up and down in alternate time cycles. The good thing is that all your planets support education strongly and so it would be a good idea to go for further studies while earning if possible.
