Guest guest
This is a good discussion going on. I just wanted to add my two bits. There are good logics on both the sides. However, I think not chanting on mense is a bit stronger, and that is my preference, too. Shitting, pissing, mense - all are natural and people do this, experience this. However, telling lies is also natural (as people "naturally" do this.) and many sins these days are quite "natural". But to me such natural things are not good for purity. To me everything has it's own way, own system. And I think the spiritual people being in meditation with dirty body is not a good examples. Because we seriously lack in the things they own. They have much more spiritual depth that we dont have. Many of them have the power to foresee future, or healing abilities. That we dont have. Also, perhaps they can't take the break in dhyana to bathe and for that reason they might be dirty. There might be manythings. I remember reading something like Lord Shiva said to Goddess Sati that respect is mental and has nothing to do with standing up in respect. But, does that apply to us? What is about we follow this practice with other respected people, Gurus, sants, etc etc? The mense of the devi is holy and powerful. Normal women's are not. Shiva linga is worshipped. Ours are not :-) However, as I said, this is a personal view. But the *Natural view* is NOT TO do mantras while on mense. But, if someone thinks that he or she has reached that stage that s/he can be concerned with the purity of ONLY mind, let her practice. The problem becomes when we really want to prove or demonstrate our own ideas. It is better to show you logic, support yourself, then if the person cannot see, it is his karma. The majority of the world's population do not even recognise the efficacy of astrology, what would you say, or do? And how many person will you convince? As I say, my opinion is not to chant on mense. But I am not saying I am ultimate correct. From what I see, and believe, that is my answer. That is why I have no intention to argue with either. I personally am *VERY* sensitive about such stuff and I need to do everything perfectly. I remember one case when I did mantras with a sweaty body and it fired back violently. I personally seen that a reasonable extent of purity and cleanness is enough, it is not that you will have just bathed. I am curious about what you think about doing mantras, as the traditional dictum is to keep the rosary invisible while chanting mantras, by keeping it under a piece of cloth or inside the cloth-made bag. I am eager to know your opinion and what way you have achieved good results. I am going to create a poll for it, please cast your votes. Best wishes Tanvir. What can not happen, can never happen.
