Dear Neeraj:

It is sometimes described that Mars in the 2nd is also harmful, and some

even say it's

Kuja dosha.

However, I also have a problem with Mars in the 8th being kuja dosha.

I understand and experience in people's charts, with Mars in the lst, 4th,

7th & 12th, houses,

where Mars, due to it's various aspects, directly influences the 7th house

of Marriage, and

partnerships.

Mars in the 8th, however, is the only configuration where Mars doesn't

directly influence the 7th house.

There is another quality where Mars, or Kuja dosha, or imbalance can occur

in a variety of other situations and configurations.

For example Mars in the 3rd, generally is not supposed to be kuja dosha, but

if Mars is with

the Moon or Sun, or Jupiter or Venus, etc., in the 3rd, all of these

different configurations

could be indicative of a 'malefic' Mars which is the true definition of

'kuja dosha' or Mars, imbalance.

I don't think we need to get to caught up in always defining some perfectly

all these rules,

because if I've learned anything about Jyotish, it's also, the fact, that

for every rule, there

are a number of exceptions that also could exist.

Mars in the lst is supposed to be Kuja dosha, but, if Mars is in it's Own

Signs, or Exalted,

that maleficness, is much reduced.

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid

~ Om Namah Shivaya ~

Hi all,

I believe, I was not clear in my words. I intended to

say that "Mars in 8th house (i.e. 2nd from 7th house)"

is malefic and not mars in second house. Even I do not

consider Kuja Dosha, if mars is placed in Second

house.

Hope, I am clear this time.

Regards,

Neeraj
