Dear Mark:

Yes I would like to work on Saturn - Saturn in 1st

House, Saturn's effect on Moon, Saturn's transit

(currently in my 4th, and aspecting my Lagna).

Dear Sudarshan:

Great! Saturn is one of my happiest planets to explore, improving.

Because as I help others, I notice I even help and improve my own, Saturn!

hehe

See below:

Dear Mark

I got the email from the Vedic Astrology .

Yes we can share our emails on that group.

Yes I would like to work on Saturn - Saturn in 1st

House, Saturn's effect on Moon, Saturn's transit

(currently in my 4th, and aspecting my Lagna).

Learning whether Saturn is first acting malefically or benefically is the

key to change.

Saturn going through Gemini, these last few years through your first house

is hard, but

then adding on top of that, the fact that your Natal Saturn is there, too,

made this a real

wake-up call for you. And Saturn gives us grief and grief, and grief, until

we say, "Okay,

life I'm ready to change."

As it turns out, it wasn't really even Saturn that made us feel this way,

but Saturn reflects

our own actions, and consequences coming back to us!

The clear indicator of when 'Saturn" malefic

influences reduce will be when I see things moving on

the "Green card" front - unless that delay has been

caused by some one other than Saturn.

Yes we will see delays and frustrations ceasing when our Saturn gets more

benefic.

Can I use 4th house for residence (or residency status

in the US)? Potentailly then, the situation should

improve when Saturn crosses over to Cancer?

Perhaps, but I don't believe in the Philosophy of waiting till we leave a

period.

I believe in striving to learn the lessons of that planet while we're in

that dasa,

and then, things can get fulfilled though they tend to come to us, not so

much due to our

effort or straining but due to our patience, and inner,....brillance...

Please correct my understanding about Saturn --

Physically causes laziness

No, you're right, the malefically functioning can reflect laziness, or

inertia...

In events casues delays

or delays, and frustrations and impatience...

In environment causes dirtiness (pollution, dirty

surroundings, Home is always disorganized etc.) (I

have not read this anywhere, but inferred from the

fact tat Sa uses Crow for vehicle, and Crow makes a

mess of its surroundings) However much I want my

house to look clean, it never becomes clean...always

remains messy!

Well, then, let's start here!

Take the time, to clean your house.

Make it clean and beautiful.... and then, see how you feel.

I'm the same way, but when my house is orderly, I feel 10Xtimes, better.

Effect on Moon -- Makes one slow to react, Makes one

slow in understanding ...based on indiviudal's

creativity, he/she can camaflague that slowness with

Meticulouness :-) Frustrations because of delays in

events.

Yes, Saturn's influences upon all planets and especially in the rising sign,

with the Moon & even the Sun....can be very difficult...

Please share with me the knowledge of any remedies for

Saturn ...would like to try out and see the effect on

the above characteristics.

But, this is just Nature's way of showing us, we were born to grow within

the beautiful benefic areas of Saturn.

I have had Saturn in my 12th and with my Moon!

and for many years, I experienced much of the negatives of Saturn...

loss, grief, separation, fears, anxieties, even shyness and mental and

emotional depression...

but eventually, that lead me to search for something, anything to help!

and I discovered meditation...

I was looking and Nature fulfilled by quest even though I had no idea of the

solution...

So, like that,

we all can desire the solution to our problems... and applying ourselves,

even to searching for some solution, is the way ....we create a path towards

that thing, we need, or want...

So, over time, we can create some thoughts as to Saturn's positive side, and

as we think of and understand the positives of Saturn's nature, then,

desiring those...

we begin to become those....

I discovered meditation....because of my intense yearning for relief....

And I experienced tremendous relief from much of Saturn's affects in this

one Vedic remedy, alone...

However, even after years of meditating, I still experienced way too much of

Saturn's negative side,....so I kept...searching...

and then, life lead me to Jyotish....

where I #1, found the Astrological reasons why I had had, and still did,

experience too many negatives....emotionally and even in terms of career,

because Moon rules my 10th house of career...

Then, I started discovering that inherent in the maleficness, I realized

that there is the very opportunity for change, growth and even

improvement...

Think of every malefic in our charts, actually, as one's that show us where

our opportunities, for growth and improvement....should come...!

If we have a malefic Mars, by learning how to strengthen our Mars, we can

learn to transform out of the malefic, negative sides of Mars...

For Saturn, once we've found the maleficness, then, we can aspire to

discover the more balanced, benefic side...

Benefic qualities...

Know that Saturn stands for silence, for balance, for deep integration....

Therefore if it's acting malefically, and not exhibiting those sweeter, more

positive sides, then we should 'strengthen' our Saturns....

But, how do we do this?

Jyotish Remedies for Strengthening Saturn:

o Include all forms of rest, relaxation, rejuvenation, and the like.

So, getting more rest at night. Taking consistent rest, whenever we can, and

especially when our bodies, or minds are telling us, we're tired, .... is a

great technique for increasing Saturn,

strength...

o Meditating, is one of the greatest tools for strengthening Saturn.

Because Meditation, has the capability to give us a direct experience of

deep, deep, silence....and regular meditation, itself, leads to balance, and

integration,...then Saturn immediately improves due to this...

o Timings: Because Saturn rules timings, and having a good Saturn brings

or reflects the ability to do the right and the good thing at the right

time, then, we can enliven this aspect of Saturn by enlivening 'timings'

within us.

In other words, there are many cycles and rhythms in Nature, many of which

we're not in-tune

with.

oa) Take the Moon's cycle. Most people I know don't realize that the Moon

creates the basic cycle of rest & activity of our entire world. When the

Moon's Waxing, it's getting bigger and bigger, and we feel more outward,

dynamic, need less sleep and feel great!

However, when the Moon wanes we feel more tired, we have a hard time

sleeping, we don't have as much energy and feel rougher. However, after

watching the Moon for even a couple of cycles, I discovered, that this basic

benefic & maleficness of the 2 cycles, wasn't eternal, but

the negatives of the Waning cycle was because I didn't heed nature, and

allow myself to get more rest, especially during that time of the month,

where we're supposed to!

In other words, I discovered that these two cycles of the Moon, are

reflective of a kind of pendulem swinging between activity,...and

silence,....activity .....and silence...

Then, I realized...I felt more inward during the Waning part, and in fact,

that my body, as if, was turning inward, and curling up....

Then, I realized I could go with that cycle...

I could allow myself to be more inward and silent, get more rest, even

during that Waning cycle of the month...

It's what my body wanted to do anyway....

Then, after a few months of that, I discovered, that the earlier, griefs, of

uncomfortableness, and tiredness, etc.... all began to be less....as a

result...

A few more months of this, and then, I noticed much more discrimination

regarding timings.

People would call me and depending upon how big the Moon was, I'd say....

ah.... I'm going to be busy on Wednesday, but I'm free on Friday. Maybe

they wanted to meet, exactly on the New Moon, but I'd experienced that even

2 days later, is much more auspicious for meetings.

One of my clients said one time: "Mark, why is it that every time I meet

with you, it's.... really, a kind of happy event!"

I laughed and said: "Well, I'd love to take complete credit for this, but,

I'll tell you my secret." Then, I got very quiet and whispered, I've

learned to pick Astrologically auspicious times of each month in which to

conduct important business and avoid those days which were not auspicious."

I knew he knew a little bit about Astrology, so it wasn't too much of a

leap, for him. He said:

"Wow, I never knew it could be used so practically!"

o Also, there are inherent cycles of each Planet that's going around, so

to speak, so once I discovered the Moon's cycles, later I realized all the

planets have better or worse cycles...

There's the Sun's Saturn Winter cycle, where all of nature, is in the

Winter, hybernation, still, resting and rejuvenating mode,...and eventually

I learned that during this time of the year, this

is the perfect time for me, to get more rest, to take more time off of work,

and heal, go deep into meditation.

It feels more like this, during this time, too!

o There is also the very practical cycle of rest and activity, of the

daily cycle.

Most people don't get enough rest during the day. As a result, tiredness,

and dullness develops. So, learning how to perceive whether we're needing

more rest, and especially how to give ourselves that more consistent rest,

is a tremendous tool to directly enliven the more positive side to

Saturn....

Going to bed earlier, also is very positive because Ayurved understands that

the cycle of healing rest is strongest between 10 pm to 2am. If we go to

bed, consistently before that time, then, we get the most out of that cycle.

We might stay up later, and think because we're sleeping later, and

basically getting the same amount of hours, in the bed, that it's okay.

But, a few days and weeks, where you go to bed before 10, and you'll

discover, that you wake up between 4 and 5 feeling almost completely

refreshed...

So, not only do you strengthen Saturn by getting more rest, but you even end

up with more energy, and more free time in which to enjoy it!

Well, this has been fun.

I look forward to you, moving in any of these directions, and hearing what

happens, as a result!

take care

ps...Saturn will tell us through our charts.....through our dasas...and even

through the transits, how our Saturn's doing...

Eventually, you'll heal or enliven this more positive side, till you

experience, directly positive expressions of Saturn moving around or being

in Saturn dasas...

For example, I've been watching Saturn moving through my chart, for about,

7, or 8 houses, now, clearly,...

I watched it moving through my 4th house of Capricorn, then 5th House in

Aquarius, then, 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th houses.... and learning all this time,

how to focus my attention on those areas of my life...

This last few months, I watched as Saturn moved into Cancer, and I

experienced it like a big boulder at first moving into that, most important

area of career.

Once I recognized that classic Saturn experience I realized, wow, I

shouldn't rush around that boulder, which was my first impulse to do, but

instead, allow that fullness of silence to pervade, that house....

and as I adjusted this way, and sloweeeeed down, even more....especially

related to those affairs of my 10th house.... that boulder got

transformed,...and became more luminous, and then, even, became like a black

hole....full of power and energy.... and was like this great force for good,

moving through my house of career...

And as I've learned to see, my Saturn better, I've spend so much good time,

sharing with other people this important discovery....

is very much in-tune with the actual Saturn moving through Cancer....

It will be continuing in May, so we have another fine opportunity to become

more in-tune with the bright side of the 'force' of Saturn....
