Guest guest
Hello Mark. Thanks so much for the wonderful insight into Mars in Cancer in 10th house. The very paradox of having a strong planet like mars in the watery sign of the moon was always something that had mystified me in astro analysis. Take my own horoscope for example where I am in a very similar position like yours. According to western charts I have Mars in Leo, but according to the traditional south Indian method of calculation, I am libra lagna with Mars in 10th house. I was a tough kid and had a frightful temper during my "youth" so to say. However after the age of around 30, I began to mellow down and was more drawn to using the energy of mars in a different way. I started the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa !! I was always drawn towards an engineering career and became a mechanical engineer. Since mars is in cancer, you guessed it, my favorite subject was hydraulics and water power. I made my career in an electric utility (Rahu Dasa started in 1987 for me) and during the course of the past 15 years I have done many projects relating to water utilities and with hospitals (medical related projects). Of course, I think this has been made possible by my Moon who exalted in the 8th house with retrograde Jupiter (both conjunt in Taurus in Krittika natshatra ). I just started my Jupiter dasha in 2003, with some trepidation since Jupiter lords over the 3rd and 6th house, but so far things have gone relatively well. Due to the grace of transit Jupiter in 5th, my wife and I are expecting a child in May. My sade sati also ended in 2003. During that time, Lord Saturn taught me some very tough lessons, but when I look at the sade sati results in the end, I realized that during this period I got married, bought a house and made tremendous progress in my career (and monetarily). This is probably because retrograde Saturn is located in Aquarius in my 5th house ( I am somewhat blessed by such a benign position of Saturn who is also a yogakaraka planet for me). In retrospect, I do agree that similar to you, when I let the events unfold around me and by standing for myself, I feel a lot better. I noticed that you had also mentioned accidents. Well, I have a thing for fast cars. I owned several sports cars (wonder why they were always red in color ? :-) I have participated in car rallies and als participated in high speed track training events. Ironically none of my accidents happened during high speed driving, but I have had several motor vehicle accidents in the past. Miraculously I have come walking out of the car without a scratch. Is that the divine merit of Jupiter in 8th or could it be mars aspecting Capricorn from my 10th house ? Please feel free to respond. regards. The very paradox of having a strong planet like mars in the watery sign of the moon was always something that had mystified me in astro analysis. I made my career in an electric utility (Rahu Dasa started in 1987 for me) and during the course of the past 15 years I have done many projects relating to water utilities and with hospitals (medical related projects). very interesting hearing your Mars/Cancer,...story.... Of course, I think this has been made possible by my Moon who exalted in the 8th house with retrograde Jupiter Interesting, though mine is quite a bit different, with my 10th house lord, Moon going the other direction, being in the 12th, and with my Saturn, also yogakaraka, but in the 12th house... (both conjunt in Taurus in Krittika natshatra ). I think you're right here, that Jupiter, being with an Exalted planet can really soften, and turn the potentially negative part of Jupiter's karma, due to ruling 3rd and 6th....into a more positive one... For me I've been lucky cuz, my Jupiter's in my 6th house, in Pisces, so that reflected a much more positive jupiter period, and also Jupiter very positively affected by Mars/Cancer, in the 10th.... I think you should be more careful, because Mars/Cancer, represents also a kind of lack of clarity about, movement and actions, hence accidents... so try and be especially cautious, even if you've escaped.... the more dreaded part of it... regards.
