Hello, Iyer and others,

It's been my impression that "Rahu is like Saturn " (and Ketu like Mars)

is in reference to favorable and unfavorable (and Vedha) places in transit

from the Moon. And I think they fit in Ashtakavarga strength, roughly.

(because high points and good signs will cause good effects even in bad places

from

the Moon. And low points and enemy/debilitation signs weaken the good

effects, etc. ) In some of the Brighu progressions, Rahu contacting Venus means

wealth, as does Saturn and Mercury to lesser degrees; but that does not appear

to

apply to transits, although if it happened to be the yogi planet, it could.

Also, while on the subject of Transits/Gochara am I understanding

correctly that when you do transit effects from the Lagna, a planet is favorable

for

the transited rasi when it gets a bindu (also, favorable for the house

occupied by the bindu-contributing planet... because the transiting planets is

in a

favorable position from the natal one; also favorable for the natural

indications of the planets involved), and unfavorable if not getting a bindu?

That

is, even if it is unfavorable in a particular house from the Lagna until it gets

to the Lagna's own zone or kakshya, it will for instance be favorable in

Mars' kakshya as long as it's getting a bindu?

As a general rule, it seems that I'm OK as long as the Moon is getting a

bindu even if overall bindus are low, but the Moon is my atmakaraka, and it

rules and occupies houses where all my issues seem to come from (mostly my one

issue), so that may not be a general rule of thumb. So has anyoneelsenoticed

this? The other, possibly strongest influence (after dasa/bhukti effects

but this is a daily basis-type deal) is Pancha Pakshi system. I would love

to hear of others' experience with this. One day I'd love to get Astroloka's

software or other software for Pancha Pakshi; now I calculate by hand.

Well, take care, and Namaste, my friends,

Robin
