Dear Sri Vattem Krishnan,

Wow! Your knowledge of jyotish is extremely impressive! I am new to this

site so I hope I am doing this correctly. Have been studying jyotish for a few

years but as I am in South Carolina I don't know where the desire & fascination

comes from! I wonder if you could check my chart as you have done for others

and see what the outcome of this situation will be.

Details are: female born Decmber 16, 1954 at 12:16 pm in Columbia, SC USA 34 N

0 81 W 2

This was birth right at the junction of Pubba & Uttara but I am fairly certain

it is Pubba, especially with experimenting with paksha panchi effects. Also by

Deva Keralam book it strongly appears the birth is in Dhruva Nadi 2nd half.

I am very fortunate in respect to 2 great sons, but am having a terrible time

with spouse (as you may tell with Rahu conj darakaraka & 7th lord Sun, aspected

by Saturn; Mars and Rahu aspecting atmakaraka 6th (and UL lord) Moon in 7th,

which is in 7th Navamsa debilitated also. To put is bluntly, he is committing

suicide slowly through drink. He started drinking every night October 4, 2000;

his company tanked in November 2003. He started working for another company

February 15, 2004 but quit work last Wednesday March 2nd with no prospects. I

am afraid he is totally devoted to drinking himself to death. He is physically

strong (note exalted Sun in Navamsa in my chart) but nobody can keep going

forever this way. Do you see him somehow rallying and pulling out of this

(which he has pulled off before, only to slide back down as now) or is this it?

I am working as an associate mail carrier (frequently with no sleep)and this is

all I could find --I just try to work so hard and not think about things I can't

do anything about. It is so rough on the whole family; please don't be afraid

to say what you see. It is up to God to say how and when the torture ends, but

can you read when it will? It seems like things are going from bad to worse.

Details for spouse are November 2, 1952 3:57 am Columbus, Ohio USA 38 N 58

83 W 00. He is in Jupiter/Saturn and they are in 6/8 relationship (with

Jupiter in 8th!) and next bhukti is of Mercury in 8th from Moon-Jupiter

conjunction so obviously it is scary.

My younger son (details August 30, 1987 9:38 pm 32 N 12 80 W 42) is in

Saturn dasa(11/12 L and Bhatrikaraka)Saturn in 9th aspected by Rahu; Mars

bhukti 2/9 Lord in 6th aspected by both Saturn and Jupiter (Mars is also in

debiltated Navamsa--this is bad yoga for father). Mars is also conjunct Sun

karaka of father. Can Jupiter save things? My son is so talented musically and

we are trying to get him a music scholarship into college, but his father seems

determined to drag him and the the rest of us down. I know alcoholism is a

disease but if I could afford it we would leave so my spouse could "hit bottom"

and maybe come to his senses. At this point I am numb with grief and filled

with anxiety. It is such as terrible shame and a waste to watch the

deterioration.

Older son (details November 12, 1982 5:16am 32 N 5,81 W 6) is running dasa

of Rahu in 9th with bhuti of Ketu (conjunct Mars) in 3rd naturally, and THAT

isn't so great either re: father. (note debiltated Sun karaka of Father, also

Bhatrikaraka)

I was working two jobs but the second job interfered with the mail job and I

couldn't do it justice. Once I make regular (that could be years) things will

be more on an even keel, but I am grateful for the potential. My older son is

working two jobs and doing all he can to help.

My dasa Jupiter can't help much being Gnatikaraka and 2/11 lord Rx in the 6th

rasi in Cancer, receiving Saturn's aspect.

Notice that Jupiter is exalted in 8th from his Mulatrikona, I wonder why this

is so? This has probably been discussed in this forum before. (mine would be

Rx, and it would be my UL too...I must have been a bad person in a past life;

and it seems obvious also this life has to do with detaching from marital-type

attachments--its working, too)

Any suggestions?

hello Robin,

it is not just desire:

"the desire & fascination comes from!"

The desire for jyotish is influenced by jupiter ,dasa lord,position of Mars in

Saturn's rasi(he is at it's best) and moon in sun's rasi.So all these made you

(Aquarius Ascendent) to go beyond and even made you to know daiva keraleeyam and

dhruvanadi.

Saravashtaka anlysis of lagna lord reveals that welfare of the spouse with all

that problems is really taken care by the lord of 9th lord in it's own sign and

together with saturn.

Dasa Lord jupiter placed in exaltation in cancer ensures a good and stable life

except for a brief spell of july to Dec of 2005 during which period lagna lord

assmes direct in transit and moves to 6th.Health problems and career issues give

some problems.

some how i tend to differ with you :"It seems like things are going from bad to

worse".

dasa of 11th and2nd lords placed in exaltation in cancer sees you well off till

the end of dasa till 2011.As lord of 2nd placed in 6th from lagna has effects

generally on health.Also lord of 6th in 2nd from there too is not a good

indication.better avoid /restrict movements in sudden and un natural climates.

Need no worry as seen from dara karak sun is in ketu nakshatra of moola in fiery

sign of sagittarus and assocaition of rahu also in the same sign but in the same

nakshtra.His frustation leading to regular drink is attributable to debilitation

of lagna lord in association with venus in your 9th.Moon placed in 7th is in the

nakshtra of venus.

This is possble in jupiter/venus phase in the pratyntar of mercury after

December 2005.Possible one of your son's help makes him better.

He can be diverted from his habbit on two grounds:

tending and nurturing very closely during the above period with better

communication by you .his choice of drinking is also a frustation as you are

first so busy and does not get his wish fulfilled due to lack of communication.

Also your son can bring a change in him.

Aspect of retrograde jupiter on mercury placed in his own nakshtra of jyeshta

can in later stages get diverted to religion.There is no ground for pessimistic

thought.Just get out of the rut for couple of months and revive his hopes for

future(in You)

5th(past life) is in Rahu's amsa of Adra star.Also 2nd lord jupiter in Pushya as

the gains is only through hard work and stress.

This is almsot sapping all your wishes for a joyful life and also of your

spouse.

if i say your past is related to a religious life(Venus in Viskha) and the

present is linked to debilitated satutn in exaltation in libra in jupiter

nakshtra.A diversion from past to present life.

while you are involved in external media of communication the area that needs

attention of the family is linked to your spouse.Pl think and do this as a

priority.what your husband indulges is a sign of frustation and this can be set

right by taking care of his fascinations.
