Guest guest
Dear Sanjay: Nice to hear from you. Please see below: sanjay sharma <s16444> Date: Thu Mar 3, 2005 6:34 am Subject: Re: Jyotish/Astrology is the Ultimate Self-Improvement Technology...> Mark & members Dear Mark & other members, I agree with you in totality that that Astrology is Ultimate Self Improvement Technology! We all know that astrological principles enshrined by our noble saints have stood the test of time and are as valid today as they were hundreds or thousands of years ago. But with time perspective must change. So, many drastic lifestyle changes have occurred and most of them are negative that what you say looks very interesting and practical also. This is something I experienced, too, when I first started studying Jyotish many years ago, now. (1988). But, because I had been trained in the Transcendental Meditation movement, especially from my Maharishi, that Vedic Knowledge goes through cycles of renewal, up and down, I realized... like meditation, maybe also Jyotish has been in a 'negative' space as you say. So, I continued studying Jyotish but from my own, new more positive perspective. This Self-Improvement Technology ideas makes one feel empowered to make suitable changes in lifestyle to alleviate sufferings rather than being mute spectator. Even though I am learner of astrology but I have tried many such ideas on myself and the results are encouraging. First I will give the planetary configuration for you to analyse: DOB: 30-7-1969, TOB:10.35am, POB: Delhi Cantt, India Ascendant: Virgo:Ju 2nd: Libra 3rd: Scorpio: Ma 4th : Saggitarius 5th:Capricorn: Mo 6th: Aquarius: Ra 7th: Pisces 8th: Aries : Sa 9th: Taurus 10th: Gemini: Ve 11th: Cancer: Su & Me 12th : Leo: Ke I used to have severe double mind or you can say wavering mind. May be due to presence of Moon in Capricorn or Saturn¹s 10th aspect on Moon. Even Saturn by itself, in Aries, and/or in the 8th house can create that affect of wavering mind. But, Jyotish also teaches that each planet sends back a mail, to it's homes how it's doing. So, Saturn in Aries, reflecting those qualities, sending back to Capricorn and Aquarius, means that the Moon, in Aquarius is being affected by 'that' malefic acting Saturn... Also Moon with Rahu can produce challenges upon the Moon! And all my works used to get delayed for some reasons or other. There were times that even when I had enough money to pay taxes but somehow payments were delayed. Slowness was there in almost all activities. This is what I love the most about listening to people's words, because your expressions: 'all my works...getting delayed'.... is clearly a Saturn affect... Also, payments being delayed, and 'slowness (in) almost all activities,... conjurs up Saturn! Then, your chart verifys this... First of all, Saturn in Aries,...and from the 8th house, Saturn's aspect upon the 10th house, of career, will reflect delays.. and upon the 2nd house of wealth, will reflect delays in terms of money.... I visited many astrologers, tried many remedies but all invain. This is because most astrologers have not been trained in very profound, things to do, to change our Stars! It's also not been understood that, that, was even possible... But, Guru's being re-enlivened again, today, in India, and throughout the World... Jyotish, is really all about transformation... My guru said to me: "Don't take your chart like it's written in stone, it's just the state of physiology at the time of birth." That has helped me a lot, because I don't take my malefics like their 'fated', but only that they're my condition... And as a result I've experienced tremendous growth in all the areas where my malefics, previously were reflecting chaos! Then I started learning astrology to find out what this puzzle is all about. I can be 100% wrong in my thinking but this is what I felt and tried: Saturn being debilitated at time of my birth might have created something in my brain which was leading to slowness in activities. Saturn in Aries, usually represents a tendency to want to go faster then what is positive. The delaying quality is probably due to Saturn's aspects upon 10th & 2nd houses... for ex. Saturn, really as a reflection of 'timings' within our human minds and physiology,... when Saturn's not balanced,...as it is in Aries,... then, one needs to learn to be more patient,.. silent, and quiet... and accept, the timings....that Saturn rules... Astrology says alcohol, non-veg food etc are negative in general but more so when considered in respect to workings of Saturn. I used to consume lot of alcohol and non-veg food. Maybe alcohol was making those weak points (due to debilitation) more weak. So, I reduced alcohol to large extent. Stopped non-veg totally. Started strict discipline in most of my activities. Saturn's negative or malefic influence upon the 2nd house can give experience of such un-healthy foods... I had a similar experience in my chart, growing up with Saturn in my 12th, aspects my 2nd house of food,...and I used to love,... dead and dieing food, ate a lot of left overs, due to growing up in a family of 8, and given to me by my Mother, with Moon with Saturn in the 12th... Though she was a nurse, and tried as best she could.... But, when I realized that Saturn was trying to teach me that I should instead eat only very fresh, and organic, vibrant food, my health and body immediately improved... I don¹t know which planet caused the stressful breathing sometimes during the day but I started pranayam and results are positive. Stess in general is very symbolic of Saturn,...and with Saturn/Aries, going too fast,... can produce an effect upon the breath... Venus being directionally weak 10th house. I am doing mantra chanting to strengthen Venus the lord of my second and ninth house & results are positive. Don't forget however, that Venus is also the Lord of the 9th in the 10th,... which is a very good lordship.... Excess of sexual thoughts is one area yet to be controlled and how I haven¹t yet figured out how? Hope you and other learned members of this group will help. Too many sexual thoughts, etc. is definitely, Rahuish... and Rahu does influence your Venus, from it's place in the 6th house... to the 10th house... Last transit of Jupiter to Virgo (my ascendant) is very good in general. Looking forward to response from you and other member¹s also. Regards Sanjay So, continue your good work especially with Saturn... Saturn represents Shiva, or Balance,... and when it's positive, life grows in time, and things happen more obviously in the right fashion... So, study how to get more rest... to be more balanced... meditation is extremely valuable at developing...silence and inner calmness... which will quiet down a functionally acting Saturn... Also, watching the cycles of the Planets like I've done, doing a transit chart of each day, for over 18 years has taught me about the Moon's cycle... and all the cycles of all the Planets... Saturn represents all 'timings' and as I've discoved these natural rhythms, and developed the desire for increasing my attunement with them,... my Saturn griefs,...have subsided.... Saturn, like all Planets, represents something about us... our thought patterns, and our tendencies.... So, desiring to balance your Saturn, is the right thing! >From that, Nature will guide you exactly how... Study 'silence' vs. activity.... Saturn/Aries, prefers, or is prejudiced for activity, vs. balance between rest & activity.... Good luck, sounds like you're very close to having some major breakthroughs with your Jyotish... Just follow nature's lead, and nature will continually tell you which planet needs attention! Jai Guru.... I have been feeling lot of frustration for quite some time now. Not knowing what and where I have to go. May be it is beacuase I am running Rahu Mahadasha or may be something else. My rising sign (at the time of birth) is aquarius and other birth details are as under: Date 20/08/1973 Time 20.00 Hrs Place nagaur ( 27.30N and 74.20E) Thanks N Regards Jugal Dear Jugal: Glad you enjoyed it. I'm looking up your chart fairly quickly,... and I'm comparing it to your short description, above. I find that people, we all, express our charts through our very words, very spontaneously. And when I read your words,...these particular one's jump out, at me. #1 you said... "feeling a lot of frustration"....and "not knowing what and where to go." Both these descriptions remind me of Saturn.... Saturn's the planet that holds us back,.... and the flavor you said,...of 'not knowing, 'what', and where to go...are also interesting... Do you know about Jyotish aspects? Well, in your chart, your Saturn's in the 5th house, in Gemini, the 3rd sign, ... and Sani aspects fully the 3rd house away from it, and 3 houses away, is your Leo, which is where your Sun is... and though the Sun always loves being in Leo, I've known people with Saturn aspecting Sun's/Leo before, and quite often a lot of frustrations result... So, if we've identified, the right planet that's causing you your 'frustrations', then, we might talk about some ways to strengthen, Saturn.... My take on Jyotish is, simply put, that the malefics in our charts, are not only symbolic of our problems,...but .... they're even much more profoundly,....about those very things that we should consider differently,... and adjusting ourselves,... in the ways of those 'planets' or malefics,.... should transform ourselves, quite naturally! So, let's try.... In your chart, I believe your 'frustrations' are Saturn based. They could be pitta or Mars based if Mars was so aspecting but I think Saturn's the one. So, consider for a moment that you could strengthen, and therefore, improve your Saturn! Then, the way you'll be able to tell that you're progressing, is those same flavors of frustration, .... start to go away! Now, I believe it's also helpful to understand, that where we have our malefics, is where we're experiencing 'frustrations' and challenges, but not understanding that we're the one's who are creating those in the first place. For example, if you were having a problem with Mars, you might be having accidents, and feeling frustrated because you thought you were going the right speed, but lo, and behold, you kept finding yourself slipped, on the ground... So, these malefics represent where our thought patterns are not quite correct, or in-tune with Nature... In the case of Mars it's more obvious, that Nature's telling us...'We're going too fast!" But, in the case of Saturn, we don't see so obviously.... but, this is where Jyotish comes in and helps... The idea with Saturn is we're out of tune, with the timing of things. Impatience or feelings of frustration, themselves, are common responses, of being out of tune, with Saturn... So, by directly, strengthening or growing in the wisdom of Saturn, let's see if your experience of frustration might subside... First of all, let me ask,.... how are you feeling? Are you sleeping well? Getting enough rest? Well rested? And plenty of energy, after you wake up? Most people are not getting enough rest,... or going to bed early enough.... One of the things we learn from Ayurved is the importance of regular habits, going to bed on time, early enough.... Also, what will help Saturn is to put yourself on a more balanced routine... Go to bed early, 10pm latest for a week.... Get up, when you first wake up.... wash, shower, get ready.... If still groggy, meditate, if you know how,.... do some yoga.... and then go about your day.... eat at roughly the same time, listen to your body,.... eat if you're hungry.... don't overeat or undereat... Ayurved says "listen to your body" Eat as much as your fire of digestion, is hankering for.... And then, eat lighter at night, and again go to bed earlier.... Do, this for a few days.... especially the part of getting more rest.... and see if you don't start to automatically....feel better! Frustrations can be outer oriented, but my experience is most of our frustrations, are inner based,...primarily.... And once you correct the imbalances....inside....subjectively..... then, the outer manifestations.... go away! good luck.... and let me know what happends.... ciao Mark Kincaid "jugal joshi" <jjugal@r...> "jugal joshi" <jjugal@r...> 3 Mar 2005 06:44:10 -0000 m.kincaid@m...
