Guest guest
Respected GuruJi & Members, I have a question on Saturn. It is said that saturn is a natural melific planet, but it becomes yogkaraka for taurus & libra lagna. Now, being a yogkarka, what would be its general effects in case of following situations: 1. If it is retroget and placed in good houses like 1,4,7,10,5,9. 2. If it is not in the retroget state & placed in good houses. 3. If it is retroget and placed in evil houses like 3,6,8,12. 4. If it is not in the retroget motion and placed in evil houses like 3,6,8,12. Your response on this is highly appreciated as i am also an ardent learner of astrology & require your precious help on this. Regards, Vinay
Guest guest
Hello Vinay. I read your email a few days ago regarding your questions on Saturn , so I decided to give it a try. For a planet to become a yogakaraka, it must simultaneously own a kendra and a trine. For Taurus lagna, Saturn owns the auspicious 9th and 10th house (dharmasthan and Karmasthan) and becomes yogakaraka. For Libra lagna, Saturn owns the auspicious 4th and 5th house (matrustan and putrasthan). However, Saturn becomes even MORE auspicious for either of these two ascendants, if he is himself either placed in Libra, Capricorn or Aquarius and placed in a quadrant or trine. It does not matter too much if he is retrograde (more discussion on retrograde planets has been dealt with by many people recently in this group). For taurus example, if he is placed in 10th house in Aquarius, he brings about Sasa Yoga (a yoga for power and longevity). Sasa Yoga is one of the Panch Mahapurush Yogas (yogas of great men). The other Panch Mahapurush yogas being Bhadra Yoga (Exalted or own sign Mercury placed in quadrant or trine), Hamsa Yoga (Exalted or own sign Jupiter Placed in quadrant or trine), Malavya Yoga (Exalted or own sign Venus placed in quadrant or trine), Ruchaka Yoga (Exalted or own sign Mars placed in quadrant or trine). For example for libra lagna, if Saturn is placed in 4th house (Capricorn), he brings about the same Sasa Yoga. Some people say that Sasa Yoga can also be caused when Saturn in placed in a trine position in own sign, exalted sign. However, for this yoga to fully manifest, it has to repeat itself from Chandra and Surya Lagnas and also Saturn has to be somewhat powerful in Navamsa. I would suggest that you download some of the teachings of Saravali which are available on the internet. Saravali texts have dealt with many of the questions that you have raised below about the different effects of Saturn in different houses. However, in general, Saturn will be yogakaraka for Taurus and Libra ascendants. i.e. he will always produce good for these two ascendants. However, the results will vary based on the terrestrial position of Saturn (different houses) and also the zodiacal position of saturn (exalted, fallen, own sign, friends house etc.). Your question is so good, that one can almost read an entire book on Saturn, and still have questions !! :-) Hopefully i have tried to answer some of them.
