Dear Gentlepeople:

Just found an internet cafe so getting an opportunity to post. My Rahu

Vimshottari mahadasa begins April 25, 2005--in about 3 months.

A South-India based astrologer had warned me that I'll indulge

in "strange" behavior around the beginning of this dasa.

Last week I quit my cosy job (all of a sudden) and packed off to Madras

to help the Tsunami victims as much as I can. My parents are pissed at

me, so are my friends, but I felt this was the time to temporarily hang

my gloves and do something worthwhile. This I believe falls within the

definition of "strange" behvior.

Now, I don't know if this is due to upcoming Rahu mahadasa or due to

Sade-sati (Leo rashi) which has already begun.

I feel it's Rahu at work. I've been researching the nodes, especially

Rahu, for a couple of years now and I've never found the answers I was

looking for. Rahu is one in-explicable entity--no one can really predict as

to how is it going to behave, i.e. beneficial or malefic.

I've seen horoscopes where Rahu mahadasa put the individual that the

pinnacle of material success and have seen horoscopes where the

individuals were ruined during Rahu mahadasa or sub period.

The books on Rahu keep on repeating the same old dictum--Rahu gives

good result if located in 3, 6, 10 and 11th house from Lagna, Moon or

Arudha Lagna. -- This dictum isn't universally true. Neither is the dictum

about "aspects" on Rahu true, i.e. aspects from beneficial planets make

Rahu "good" and aspects from malefic planets make Rahu "bad."

What if Rahu is being aspected by Jupiter??? If this is the case, then

Rahu definitely aspects Jupiter as well!!! so what'll happen during Rahu

period? Will Rahu behave "good" due to Jupiter's aspect or will Rahu

ruin everything "good" that Jupiter represents?

Most astrologers I've been contacting with these questions shy away

from answering as they don't know the anwers AND answers to such

questions are difficult to find.

I'm hoping some knowledgeable Jyotish writes a comprehensive book

on Rahu. I have the books by Shri Shiv Raj Sharma and Komilla Sutton

and both these don't tell much beyond exact translations from the

various classics.

Hi Mukund, Is it possible that you may need a few minutes of birth time

rectification and adjust it to make rahu dasha the date of the event?

I made several moves at the beginning of my Rahu dasha. Dont worry too much

about Rahu dasha. By my personal experience(11/18) it has been quite

interesting, but you will not have any trouble because you are already a

spritual person.

Also sade-sati has kicked in for me too, but I hear that retrograde saturn is

giving us a breif respite between Jan & April

Regards

Soumit

Dear Mukund,

When Rahu dasa is not started how are you expecting Rahu's results

now??? Poor Rahu.!

Please read SH KS Krishnamurthi on Rahu and Ketu. There is not even

1% of confusion about the results of nodes.

Helping others, shramasewa, charity are depicted in the charts by

planets in 5th, 8th, 9th and 12th.

So in your chart Sat (?), Mercury, Jupiter+Venus and Ketu depicting

charity and similar qualities.

Leaving job is depicted by planets 12th to 2nd, 6th, 1nd 10th.

That means Sat , Venus+Jup are for leaving job and Ketu for loss of

job being in 12th.

As per KP ,Planets in the subs and stars of these above mentioned

planets will give results of these planets.

Mars a rash planet getting aspect of Sat from 5th can cause these

happening [charity, job loss etc] during some point of time.

Moon bhukti lord in the star of Venus gives 9th results ,although

Moon in 10th.

Venus in star of Sat also gives Sat results.

So Mars-Moon-Venus [or Ketu or Sun etc] caused these happenings.

This was a brief analysis.
