As you know, MahaMrtyunjaya is a mantra to Lord Shiva as Great Conqueror of Death, Bestower of Amrita and immortality. It is a blessing both for those who have passed and for protection and blessings for the living. As I went looking for some text and audio files for it, so that everyone who didn't know it, could, I came across a website in which a devotee was asking that people chant this mantra whenever they have the chance, to chant for peace and to prevent death and destruction from war. He is hoping that with enough people chanting at different times, we will have a 24-hour a day, worldwide chanting of MahaMrtyunjaya mantra. Would anyone here be willing to help spread the word of this practice, to other email groups, to websites, to temples? There is power in love. There is power in the mantra. There is power in the Lord and Goddess, and they are not separate from us. Here are two links about this mantra, including sanskrit text, transliteration, and translation. The first one plays a recording of the mantra being chanted, when you visit the page: http://swamij.com/mahamrityunjaya.htm http://srath.com/mantra/mrityunjaya.htm Thank you. Guest guest
Hello Ms Black and other mambers, What a great idea in respect of those breaved and distreesed victims over the globe.I also take this opportunity to suggest that a day of the week may be earmarked for offering prayers and some meditation for peace, spreading the message of love and share our feelings for those who were suffering for reasons known to them are struggling in their life.Infact members can suggest the theme and a stanza /sloka for offering prayer at the time convenient to them. This can be anybody from the cross section and no bar on any account. If members agree we may start with "Sree Rama Rameti"(this also can be down loaded from prapatti.com) wishing all members a very Happy New Year and praying for health, happiness and prosperity. Infact I had completed the prayer of mrityunjaya mantra on behalf of all of you. krishnan Shad <waterpowers wrote: "Ms. Black" <Ms_Black_001> Fri Dec 31, 2004 10:16 am Re: [sRILALITHA] Re: Praying for Tsunami victims and survivors A request for those who would come to this group: Please help spread the practice of MahaMrtyunjaya mantra for all those effected by this disaster, and to preserve and protect all from more harm.
