Dear Mary:

This has been a very fascinating discussion, I have to say.

For me, when I hear the word 'spirituality', obviously it refers to

'spirit'.

And 'spirit' refers to that which is opposite to 'material' which is so

apparent today.

We're aware of 'that' which is not-spirit, material, forms, phenomena,

perceptions, time, space,....all the different aspects of our 'relative'

lives, are, in fact,....material.

They come and go, they have a beginning and an end...

But, for 'spirit' we generally mean that part of life that is non-material.

But, where can we 'see' 'that'?

Or, where can we 'experience' it?

Spirit, in truth, exists within.

Spirit, is just another word, for our very souls, our 'I's, or our

consciousnesses!

And, experience of 'that' is the most precious experience in life.

Yours, sounds like a bonifide experience of 'that'.

The Ved, says contact with 'that' brings immeasurable joy, or bliss.

Very close probably to your experience of kindness.

In Jyotish there are some very fascinating ways in which to find, and to

approach, this kind of 'spiritual' experiences...

>From the 5th House and mantras, we hear about the techniques of

transcending, or prayers and meditation, to help us have our own experiences

of 'spirit'...

>From the 9th Houses, we hear about God, both the religious, more formal type

of religion as well as less formal, and what you called 'spiritual'

realities.

And, from the 12th House, we hear about the Transcendental 'joy', from where

'all',...all spirit and all material values spring.

What I find particularly fascinating about looking at the area of

'spirituality' from the point of view of Jyotish, is one can see, one's

tendencies, one's spiritual kind of qualities, in one's chart.

The positions, and configurations especially of Jupiter & Saturn, being the

2 most powerful 'spiritual' planets, show us our 'spiritual' tendencies.

Also, how those Planets are placed, whether they aspect any of the

luminaries, Sun, Moon or even Rising Sign.... can reflect powerful progress

in the spiritual field.

There are also different 'paths' of spiritual growth, whether the path of

Action, or Mars, to 'transcendence', due to strong Saturn influences, or

path of Knowledge, and learning which is often due to Jupiter's powerful

influences.

Finally, it's quite fun to look at the different kinds of 'personalities' of

different saints or seers, from their birth charts....

and though one might not be able to 'see' the 'spirit', by looking at the

charts....one gets a strong sense of the particular personalites, that are

all, on the path of God realization.

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid

ps.... I also recently created a , called

'Spirituality_Astrology' who's whole focus is just this kind of discussion.
