Guest guest
Dear all, SUB: Rig/Atharva Vedic mantras There was no TYPE of VEDA existent before Sage Vyasa (Re)grouped the knowledge into 4 major branches. So all mantras are from the same source. The differences in Rig-Yajus-Sama-Atharvana mantras are due to their purpose or type of recital. RIG is to RECITE, YAJ is to sacrifice through fire, Saama is to SING. The last Atharvana Veda is the TANTRIK or practical part or PRAYOGA of all the other three. For example, simple PURUSHA SOOKTA exists in all 3 vedas and put to use in Atharva for UPACHAARA PRAYOGA or 16 stages of a POOJA. While that is the materialistic use, it is profound in spiritual meta- physics and filled with knowledge of CREATION of the UNIVERSE, from which many 'scientific things' like polar tilt of the Earth and its measure ...etc can be proved too. Well, thats different story. So Rig mantras describe WHAT to do while ATHARVANA describes HOW to do it with the help of YAJUS-SAAMA. If one feels we are pushing vedic knowledge up to attain the status of science, its ignorance! for they by themselves are high at unreachable levels. An individual can just grasp what he can. When the person KNOWS fully what IT is, he/she ceases to be here to interact, like this, like us! yours KAD
Guest guest
Sub: Response to the mail on Rig/Atharva Vedic manthra Dear Members, Yes It is true that science should never be mingled with Vedic shastras.Vedic Shastras are so great that only very experienced Persons can give the BASICS of what the Vedas are?? Also if we all are that skilled why would we come here sit and speak on the Basics of what Vedas are. Also Members,Right from my childhood I was breaking my head to get a solution on what my capacity is.Infact till date I never got a answer. But the statement "An individual can just grasp what he can" has conciliated all my fear and anxiety. My thanks to the concerned person for guiding me in the right direction.
